Happy reading xx
-Alyssa's POV-
I never appreciated sleep as much as I appreciate it now. 24 hours without sleep is not something to joke about.
I got up and realised that school is about to start in 3 weeks. How am I supposed to cope with school, this haunted house and finding a part time job?
I sighed as I got up. I decided to register for school early so I wouldn't have to rush on the first day.
I drove mom's car to my new school, Brayfield High. I walked into the main office and filled in the forms.
I thanked the secretary and left. I realised that this school's lockers were located on the walls along the hallway. My old school had a room just for the lockers.
While walking out, I felt someone following me. I turned around and saw nothing. Suddenly, the sound of a locker slamming shut startled me.
There was no one.
I quickly ran to the car and drove back home, not caring if I was exceeding the speed limits or not.
"Mom! Justin! Victoria!" I shouted the moment I got home.
"What is it?" They asked.
I told them everything and they said to calm down. It might just be a person stalking me.
Hell no. I wished it was a person. We all know damn well its not a person.
****************************
Everything was set and we stayed up watching the computer like the night before. We made sure everything was in order before starting the investigation.
As usual nothing happened before 3. I started giving up knowing that this thing is hiding. I know its here.
Just when the clock showed 3am, a loud sound rumbled from upstairs. We focused on the screen as we tried to see what that was. Suddenly, the door to my room opened slowly.
It creaked through the mic and it opened so slowly and it suddenly froze.
"What on earth?" Victoria asked.
She started moving her mouse but it wouldn't move. The whole computer froze. She restarted the system.
"Justin go check Alyssa's room." Victoria ordered.
He ran to check and came down minutes later.
"Nothing. Door was left ajar." He replied.
I knew Justin could see things too. But his wasn't as strong as mine. I could feel it around me right now.
Suddenly, my shoulders felt heavy, as if someone was making me carry weights on my shoulders. Justin's face paled.
"A-Alyssa." He whispered.
"Yeah?" I responded feeling dizzy.
"T-there is someone sitting on your s-shoulders." Was the last thing I heard before darkness took over my vision.
***********************
"There is indeed something unusual in your home Lorraine. It's not normal. I don't know what it is but its out to get your daughter. Your daughter has a weak spirit because of her ability. Its quite abnormal because for people with this ability, their own spirit is stronger." I heard Justin say to mom.
I kept my eyes close wanting to eavesdrop on their conversation.
"What do we do? Move house?" Mom suggested.
"Everywhere you go. It will follow you. Its latched onto your daughter and will not leave her alone. It will continue to keep her paranoid and hurt her. It will keep disturbing her and maybe even drive her to the brink of insanity. Sometimes may do physical harm to her. Death can also happen if they want to kill her."
I'm dying.
I slowly opened my eyes. Acting like I never heard this conversation. My eyes squinted at the sudden amount of light shining at me.
"Sweetie are you okay?" Mom asked as she held my hand in hers.
"Yeah, I'm fine."
You know I'm not.
