-Alyssa's POV-

It's been gone for so long. Why is it back? Having the ability to see or feel something others can't isn't something to joke about. Nothing has triggered my ability for quite some time until last night. The presence.

I first figured about my ability when I was 8. As an 8 year old, death isn't something we're used to. It doesn't even occur to us when one is gone. Anyway, I used to talk to my grandma every day because she used to live with us. I still talked to her even after she died. But, I didn't know that. One day, I saw my grandma sitting in the corner of the room crying.

She mumbled something along the lines of I'm sorry. So, being the clueless 8 year old I was, I went to the corner and started talking to grandma. I kept asking her what was wrong but she kept crying and ignoring me.

All of a sudden, mom pulled me up from the corner and asked me who I was talking to. It's pretty normal to have imaginary friends at the age of 8 so mom didn't really mind. When she asked me those questions every time, I would tell her my imaginary friends names, Peter, Ben, Tori. But, that day, I answered Grandma.

Mom's face paled and she stared at me. Mom didn't want to scare me back then so she called my aunt. Mom told her everything I said and my aunt kept telling her it was going to be fine.
It was normal for an 8 year old to see things because we were still at the age of innocence. Where seeing and feeling things are already given. What was supposed to happen is when I reached the age of 10, my third eye should close and block out seeing and feeling anything from the spirit world.

But no, mine decided to stay open and give me the power to communicate with the dead. Before moving here, my ability was dead (No pun intended) , I never saw a spirit or felt one since..the incident.

But after last night, I could feel it again. And what scared me was that it wasn't something I normally felt. I normally felt a dead human being. But, what I felt last night was different. Completely different. It felt much stronger.
