"Uhm, Mr. Wood, may I have a word with Jan here?" Jared asked as he stood up.
"Of course." Dad nodded. I stood up and Jared and I walked to the garden.
"Look Wood, I want you to agree with me here; I want you to let Tryanne go. We're now engaged." Jared said sternly.
"You're not engaged." I growled.
"Haven't you heard? You and Alexis are engaged. Mari and I are engaged. You chose to break her heart. You chose Alexis over Mari." He stated.
"I know." I grit my teeth.
"Okay, now, I want you to agree with me. Let Tryanne go and agree in us marrying next February." He said.
"No." I blurted out.
"You have to. We're engaged. You broke her heart. I fix her. We'll love each other. She'll be happy. End."
"Dammit, no." I spoke with venom.
"What do you think you'll do next? Are you planning to break her again? Bro, she has been broken enough. You can't barge into her life again, ask for her forgiveness and expect that she's gonna forgive you right away. Let her be happy." He said but softly at the last sentence.
"You like her?" I asked, looking down.
"Yes." He answered.
"Do you love my sister?" He asked.
"No."
"Then learn to. I know Mari will learn how to love me too." He said.
"You can't teach the heart how to love someone you don't." I said as I left.
"Remember what I said last time, Wood. I'll make your lives miserable if you will still fight for your so called 'love'!" Jared shouted.
I paused, took a deep breath and left.

"What happened back there?" Mom asked beside me as I sat back on the table.
"Nothing." I asnwered. She had a worried expression plastered on her face but she just shrugged it off.
"So, uhm... When is Jared's and Mari's wedding going to be?" Dad asked with a tint of sadness in his tone.
Mom and dad liked Mari so much. But because of business they can't do anything.
"July 23rd." Jared spoke.
I froze. My birthday? They're going to get married on my birthday?
My father saw me freeze and spoke up.
"Oh, I believe that's Janville's birthday.. May we have another schedule?" He asked.
"Alright then, but since Mari's 21 and I am 24, I would want it better if it would be sooner, 10th of March, perhaps?" Jared suggested.
"She isn't graduated yet by then." Merl grit his teeth.
"How about after their graduation?" Aunt Jamie asked.
"Sure." Uncle Thomas replied.
"April 7." Miko declared.
"I'm okay with it." I suddenly blurted.
Everyone stared at me with surprise. Althroughout the conversation Mari's head was hang low and she shut her mouth but now she looked up at me with wide eyes. Tears forming, so she lookef down again.
"Then it's settled. Tomorrow will be the engagement party. In the McBerly's. Dwayne, gather the 7s. And we'll gather our clients." Miko ensured.
"Okay, we'll you guys tomorrow!" Aunt Mira waved as they all left.
