It was about two hours before Luke was meant to pick me up for our date. Tori and I were standing in front of the wardrobe in deep thought and concentration as to what I was meant to wear for my date. Luke had told me it was just a casual date and that I didn't need to wear anything fancy, just whatever I was comfortable in. After about half an hour of weighing up my options I went with a T-shirt dress, black converse and one of my favourite snapbacks. I curled my normally dead straight black hair and applied concealer, powder, mascara and some lip balm. I normally went light with makeup, and figured Luke normally sees me with not much on, that I didn't need to cake it on.
I was ready with about 15 minutes to spare so Tori and I just talked about the basics of a date. She had been on a fair few more than me and I needed all the help I could get. Right on the dot of 8:00pm Luke rung the doorbell of Tori's small house. I open the door to see Luke standing in his usual black skinny jeans with a band top, but in his hand is a single red rose. He grins.
"Ivy you look beautiful." He says handing me the rose. I blush and smell the rose and it's aroma is so lovely.
"You're not so bad yourself." I say giggling and mentally awwing at the moment, and Tori does out loud. I turn to her and hint for her to leave, and she smiles and skips down the corridor of the house and into her bedroom. I grab my bag and shut the front door to the house and Luke leads me to his car.
When I get into the car Luke places a blindfold over my eyes.
"Luke!?" I squeal. I'm about to claw the bandana off when he says,"Don't take it off, I want it to be a surprise." So I leave it on. The car drive takes probably about 10-15 minutes or so, but I'm not entirely sure as I've had a blindfold on for the whole trip, it could have been shorter or longer. Soon enough he stops and opens his car door and then I hear it shut and my door open. I go to remove the blindfold but once again he tells me to leave it on. He pulls me out of the car and then instead of leading me with his hand, he scoops me up into his arms and pulls me over his shoulder like a fireman would.
"Luke put me down!" I squeal, slapping his back.
"I'm just making it easier so that you won't trip!" He says. And not too long after he says that he stumbles but luckily regains himself before we topple to the ground.
"Right I'm the one who trips." I say sarcastically. He giggles but continues to hold me in the fireman grip. I still can't see so I just get into the rhythm of his walking. Soon enough he takes me down and removes the blindfold.
I open my eyes to a picnic rug with lanterns lit up surrounding it. I hadn't even realised it but he must have been walking up a hill because we were on top of it and I looked down the steep hill to see an empty playground. Due to the fact it was summer it was only now that the sun was going down.
"It's beautiful!" I exclaim.
"You like it?" He asks grinning. I look up into his eyes and nod smiling.
We both sit down and eat our food which consisted of pizza and chocolate dipped strawberries, which I was totally fine with as they are some of my favourite foods.
"I used to come here when I was a kid." He says. I look over at him intrigued.
"I would sit on the seesaw and just think whilst all the other kids bustled in play and laughter around me. It was then one day that Cal sat on the other end of the seesaw and asked me if he could play with me that we became friends. From then we grew up as best buds and later on at school I met Michael and Ashton. When we were around fourteen we used to come up to the top of this hill, and watch over the little kids on the playground, whilst we strummed on our guitars up here." He says smiling reminiscing on the old memory. I smile.
