Hey sorry but I decided to combine Chapter 2 with Chapter 1. The regular chapter 2 will probably come some time this week. Enjoy!
Today is the day that tickets for the annual Mythological Creatures convention go on sale. I've been dying to go, but sadly I'm broke. Demetri Ravscen, my best friend since we were born, is rich. Honestly, he's the richest person I know. Well, he's the son of the richest person I know. Maybe he'll get tickets and we'll go together. I wonder what it must be like having a rich dad and a glamorous mom. Our parents have been best friends since college. Dem's dad went on to become a successful entrepreneur for his own business, while my dad became the manager for Mr. Ravscen's business. It's a good job with a good pay, but it's not nearly as much as what Mr. Ravscen makes.
Dem isn't my only best friend. This is where Lizzy comes in. Elizabeth Emma Enderscott is the most amazing girl I've ever met. She's beautiful and really a caring person, not just as a friend. She's really smart, but at the same time a little bit gullible. I don't think I've ever spent a day with her where I didn't laugh extremely hard at least three times. She's always been there when I needed her. Just like Dem, Lizzy's family is part of the wealthier class in Plentywood. Her mother is the Chief of Surgery at Plentywood Hospital, while her father is a best-selling author. It's just the three of us in our little group. but I ended up being the odd one out. It usually doesn't bother me, but sometimes it can be a real pain. For example, Dem, Lizzy, and I had planned to go to Colorado for winter break, but I couldn't afford the trip so I had to stay home. When they got back they told me that it wasn't very fun. I knew they were lying.

"So are you coming to my house after school today?" Demetri asked me while I was struggling to get my Biology textbook out of my locker.
"I thought you couldn't have people over when your parents are out of town. Oh, and aren't they in New York right now?" I said with a sly grin.
"I can't. It's just you and Liz since you guys are practically family to us. So you coming or not?"
Dem gave me that prize-winning smile and wink he always gave me when he wanted me to do something. And like always, I caved.
"Fine, but your driving." I said. I gave him a little push when I said that.
"What happened to your car?"
"It's in the shop. Something went wrong with the engine. I'm picking it up on Tuesday." I said with a groan. "Why can't school just be over? I can't stand two more periods!"
"Well, look on the brightside."
"What brightside?"
"You get to spend the entire weekend with me!"
"What are you talking about, Dem?"
"Chris is flying out to stay with my parents for the weekend. They're thinking about promoting him, and they wanted to introduce him to some business people and show him the New York branch."
