"You need to stop stressing Lily, we'll find who ever is threatening you."
"Us, Alex. They're threatening us." I argued.
"Let me take you out somewhere, a date. To take your mind off of things. How does that sound?" He asked, stroking my hair. I thought about it for a minute. Going on a date was not something we should do, we need to focus on finding who over sent that note. But that's exactly why I wanted to go on the date. Because it's been almost a week and i'm tired and i'm sick of worrying.
"Yeah, ok. Where will we go?" I asked, a smile growing on my face at the thought of getting away.
"Where ever you want." He answered, a smiling a heart stopping smile.
"Ok well," I said, thinking. "How about we go for cliche this time? Dinner and a movie?"
"Seriously? Dinner and a movie? That is cliche. But I think that's wat you need right now, a bit of cliche romance." He grinned, pulling me into a kiss before standing up. "You get ready while I make some arrangments."
"Ok," I replied, getting up and walking to my wardrobe. I don't know where we're going for dinner so I don't know if I need fancy or just casual so I stared at my options for 5 minutes before pulling out a black skirt and blue tanktop. I could feel the warm air on my shoulder from the open window so I was sure I would be fine without a big jacket, instead I grabbed a cardigan and went into the bathroom to have a quick shower.
As the hot steamy water ran down my body my mind wandered. I must have greatly offended someone in order for them to want me dead. And Alex too. I have no idea what to do and wished I had Mariah here to talk to. I haven't seen her in so ling, and I feel guilty because i've barely thought of her or my family, but now as my thoughts focused on them I realised how much I truly do miss them. It's taken a while but i'm happy here, with Alex and his family. To the point I don't know if I could leave. But if I came down to it I have no idea what I would choose. My new life or my old life? So much has changed, i've changed to the point I think if I went home it could never be the same again because Alex has brought out a new me.
I shut off the water and stepped out into the suddenly cold air. I knew it was only cold because I had just been in the shower but it had me shivering and anxiuosly grabbing for my towel to wrap myself up in an effort to get warm. A minute or so later I used to towel to dry the water from me and get dressed, Alex is probably waiting.
I was right, as soon as I openned the bathroom door and stepped into my room I spotted Alex sprawled out on my bed.
"Are you comfortable?" I asked, walking over to the wardrobe to get a pair of shoes.
"Yes, I am thank you." He replied, a smile in his voice before he sat up and laid his eyes on me. He froze and his eyes widenned a little as he not so subletly checked me out.
"Lily you look amazing." He said, suddenly right infront of me.
"Thanks. I wasn't sure where we're going for dinner and whether fancy or casual so I figure the skirt is a bit of both." I shrugged.
"It's perfect."
"You don't mean that."
"Yes I do. You look perfect Lily." He said again, this time adding a kiss. I kissed back passionately before we pulled away for breath.
"We should get going." I said, a little breathless.
"Yeah, let's go." He replied, taking my hand and leading me to the car. It was one I haven't seen before, a silver convertable, 2 seater.
