Chapter 7: Dark memories

Two things! First, sorry it has taken so long for this update, i've just had a bit of writers block, sorry!

Second, i'm sorry if this chapter offends you, or scares you or anything. It is not my intention and i'm sorry if it does!

I’ve been thinking about my feelings for days. Do I really love Alex? I can honestly say that I do not want to, but I can’t honestly say I don’t. I feel complete when he’s near me. And it hurts when he walks away. I think deep down I’ve known my true feelings all along, ever since that day in the woods, but just because I found my feelings doesn’t mean I’ll stop fighting them for as long as I have my will. I still hate him, and I don’t know if that will ever change. Maybe one day my hate will turn to love, and we can be happy together. Maybe one day… but definitely not today.

Don’t look at his ass Lily, don’t do it! As hard as I tried I couldn’t keep my eyes away from Alex’s perfect ass as he walked ahead of me. I was so caught up in the perfection of the way he walked I didn’t notice he was looking over his shoulder at me.

“Like what you see?” he winked and laughed.

“Psh, no! I was just looking at… the completely not perfect thing you call an ass!” I scoffed and looked away, begging for the blush not to come, alas it ignored me and soon enough my cheeks were tomatoes.

“Sure Lily, I believe you,” I kept my head turned and ignored him as we walked through the castle yard. I convinced him to let me go for a walk but he insisted he come with me. He slowed his pace to match mine and we walked side by side through the beautiful yard. Walking through the garden I looked at all of the beautiful flowers they had here. Flowers that were nothing like the flowers back home, in the human world. I saw a beautiful flower, some were black with blue veins and right next to them were blue with black veins. I stopped walking and stared at them, my two favourite colours as one on a beautiful flower.

“Lily?” Alex asked, placing a hand on my shoulder.

“They’re so beautiful,” I said. Still staring in awe.

“So are you.” He said, kissing my cheek. I snapped out of my daze and glared at him.

“Don’t go all cliché on me with the corny lines. And did I say you could kiss my cheek?”

“I can’t help it Lily, you bring out the corniness in me.” He smirked, taking my hand.

“Whatever.” I tore my hand from his and stormed off. I walked into the castle, Alex not with me. I decided now was a good time to explore my ‘home’.

“I have to speak with the king and queen but I’ll come and find you later!” he yelled as I continued walking.

I found room after room of beautiful architecture. Everything in this castle was perfect, I can’t deny that.

I had been exploring for about 15 minutes and I was about to go find my room when I noticed a set of large double doors just down the corridor. The handles were lions and the doors looked huge. I had to go check it out. I walked forward until I was standing in front of the door. Cautiously I pushed it open and saw the best room in the castle. The library. There were MASSIVE book shelves stacked with so many books and there was a set of stairs that I assume led to more books. I walked into the room in awe. I’ve always loved reading, being able to leave the world and become someone else. I found a corner, hidden from view and slide down to the floor, looking around the room in awe.

I curled up in a ball and leaned my head against the wall, closing my eyes. What seemed like 5 minutes later I woke to the sound of people yelling my name. I realised quickly that I had fallen asleep, I rubbed my eyes with my fist but decided to stay for another minute until I regained basic brain functions. After another minute I stood up and stretched, deciding not to tell anyone about my little spot, my little safe place where I can think alone. I was walking towards the door when it opened and a worried looking Robert walked in. His face immediately relaxed when he saw me and he yelled out to Alex I presume “I found her! In the library!” then a second later Alex came running in, he came straight to my side and hugged the hell out of me.
