Chapter 2: He came back

“Hello Lily, Happy birthday for the other day,” he smiled and stepped towards me.

“Alex?” I was frozen in place.

“You remember my name,” his smile grew. I was confused by the happiness in his eyes.

“What are you doing here?”

“I promised you we would meet again. The time has come, you are 18 now,”

“But… why does my age have anything to do with this?” He isn't making much sense.

“May I come in?”

“I don’t know…”

“Please? I’ll explain everything.” I thought this over, he’d explain it all, like why I haven’t seen him for years, but he randomly decided to show himself again now.

“Fine,” I sighed.

He followed me to the living room, where we sat opposite each other.

“Talk,”  I demanded.

“2 years ago I promised you we would meet again. You have to understand that it was hard for me to stay away from you, but I was always there, watching out for you,” I thought back to the other afternoon at the restaurant, and he was there at my gig...

“What, so you were stalking me?”

“Sort of, but please Lily, don’t hold that against me, because I can already tell an argument is about to happen.” He sighed and looked down. I'm pretty pissed that he's been watching me, but I kept it in to hear the rest of what he has to say.

“What do you mean by that?” He looked up and saw the confusion in my eyes.

“You have to come with me, lily. Now,” his eyes held mine, I was lost in them until his words registered in my head.

“Um, no I don’t.”

“You do actually Lily, I’m sorry but before we continue you have to know, you are my soulmate,” I froze at his words.

“Soul mates don’t exist,” I spat. I thought back to the stories my mum has told me, she said that my 'dad' used to say that mum was his soulmate, and that he loved her so much and they would never part, then as soon as he knocks her up he leaves. I don't believe in soulmates.

“They do in my world.” He stated simply.

“Your world?” Nothing this boy is saying is making sense!

“I don’t belong to the same world as you do Lily, I’m not the same as you,”

“So what, you’re not… human?”

“No, I’m not,” His words had the hairs on my arm standing up in fear.

“Then... what are you?” I asked in a small voice.

“Vampire.” My head spun a little.

“Vampires don’t exist,”

“Oh but they do Lily, do I have to prove it to you?” I watched as his smile became a scowl, and I watched the pointed teeth grow in his mouth. HOLY CROW!!

I jumped off the couch and started backing away towards the door.

“I’m not going to hurt you Lily, I love you, we’re made for each other,” I had heard enough, I turned and sprinted for the door, but he was there first.

“You can’t leave me Lily. I have waited 2 YEARS for you, being able to look but not touch, I’ve watched you with those children you called boyfriends, and it made me angry, but I didn’t act on it, for you. It doesn’t matter what you say anyway, you’re coming with me.” He stepped forward and grabbed me, throwing me onto his shoulder.
