An Act Of Violence

"Get down!" I screamed to Aria.
A heavy sound pieced my ears. Bombs. I counted six of the before it stopped. Then another plane flew overhead. After waiting for a few minutes, I ran outside. The damage was minimal, but an airdrop landed on the ground.
"This is a message from the Ceryn family. Do not approach us. The air strike will increase in volume. We do not want peace."
After seeing this note, I heard screams ahead. Two burning people ran out of a house, screaming. I instantly ran to them.
I held one of them in my arms as she died. That made up my mind.

Two hours later, at Jun's house, I gave the order to airstrike the Ceryn's twelve times. We lost twelve people, so an airstrike for each one we lost. Jun and Aria stood by me when I gave the order. We used napalm strikes, which are bombs that release tons of fire upon their targets. The Ceryn's would feel our wrath!

I headed to the aftermath after in a helicopter. Buildings had crumbled, and the streets were still glowing orange and burning.
People's bodies were strewn across the street, and I heard faint screams.
They deserved it. They deserved it. They deserved it.
These three words, I repeated them over and over as I walked through the broken streets.
They deserved it.
No they didn't.
I fell to my knees and screamed. The fire clawed at my back, and spread up my spine. The pain was nothing compared to what I felt inside. Wretched. Disgust. All these words I used to describe myself as I lay down among my victim's bodies. I was a monster. I said war wouldn't change me, but it has. I ordered the deaths of over 500,000 people! Dead, because of me!

Days drifted by as I came to terms with my actions back in Letti. The remaining three families had come together. We had peace.
Why did I feel so empty?
Aria came to my room in Jun's house.
"Rivio! We're going out to Reyano's again tonight, you coming?"
"Sure. I'll be there at eight." A chance to drink away my sorrows again.

I dressed in a white and navy striped jumper, rolled up the sleeves and headed to the bar with Jun and Aria. My spirits lifted as we went.
"Haha, Aria, you ain't noticed he's wearing a tux?"
"Shut up guys. It's a classy suit!"
"Sure Jun. Keep on believing." Aria grinned.
The bar was still quiet, and I ordered three of the strongest drinks right away.
"Aria, I am not losing another drinking competition!"
"You sure about that? We'll have to wait and see, won't we?"
Jun decided to go talk to a red headed girl this time. She laughed at his tux, and he went over to the bar, red faced.
I drank. And drank. Soon I forgot about the Ceryn airstrike, and took pride in the fact that my country was now at peace. Jun eventually rejoined us, and the three of us got very, very drunk.

This time, I woke up in Aria's kitchen. I felt something odd on my face, so went over to the mirror to have a look.
Lipstick. Great.
"Jun, are you pranking me?" I shouted.
The barely awake Jun muttered back.
"Not so loud. I have one hell of a hangover..." I noticed he'd lost his tux jacket, but decided not to mention it.
I got dressed and had a quick shower, before relaxing. Jun had moved all of three centimetres before he bellowed.
"Where's my jacket?"
Aria came down the stairs. She looked at me and turned bright red, before saying this.
"Jun can you please, please shut up?"
"Where's my jacket?" He repeated.
I just face-palmed and made breakfast. The country was at peace, and I was too. I had true friends, and had a say in how the country was ran. Our problems were over.
Or so I thought. Really, they were only just beginning.

Hey guys, this is the end of Act 1. Sorry that the chapter is short! Anyway, the story is split into three acts.
You're probably thinking that because they have peace, the story is over. It's just beginning.
