The Overlord

As I arrived back at the town after sprinting like hell, a guard told me that that masked man called himself The Overlord. Apparently no one has seen his face.
So, all my friends were either dead, traitors, or worse. Great. There was no one left I could turn to.
I had nothing to lose now. Nothing was holding me back!
However, something unexpected came through my letterbox one day.
A letter. From Rivio's uncle?
Alright mate,
I've been up north for a while, but heard about Rivio's passing away. I'm coming to town, see ya soon pal.
-Reggie-
Reggie? He was Rivio's uncle. I hadn't seen him since I was three years old. Shit!

Reggie arrived in Letti about three hours after I red the letter. I told him he could stay in Lizzy's old house.
He came to speak to me later.
"Fucking hell Jun! Been a long time, ain't it lad?"
"You could say that, old man!"
Reggie was in his late forties, early fifties. He had grey hair and tanned skin, even though he'd been working up north for years. He was from Rivio's dad's side of the family. He was built like a nuclear bomb. He was at least six foot seven, and was built like the best  rugby player you could find.
"So, what happened to Rivio? I heard about Renée and my brothers wife. Sad pile of shit, if ya ask me."
"Rivio....we were taken by this group. They call themselves the LR unit. Aria's with them, and they're led by some twat calling himself The Overlord. We've got one of their ex-leaders held captive. His names Marcus."
"The LR unit? Marcus? Something about crap names around here, ain't there? Well, someone named you Jun, so....."
"Shut up, man! Anyway, we were caught by these guys, they wanted to take over the country, you see, and they killed Rivio."
"Damn! Well, I'm sticking around for a while, at least until these guys are dead and buried!"
A guard quickly interrupted our reunion.
"Mr Xiao! The LR unit is attacking the prison!"
"Get on the backup! Well, what do you say Reggie? Ready to crack some heads?"
"I've been waiting for this day! Cracking some heads with a fifteen year old!"
"Get lost dude! I'm eighteen now!"
"Oh wow, look out!"
The two of us headed to the prison, Reggie cracking his knuckles while we walked. I'd quickly grabbed a shotgun from a nearby guard, just in case.

A tank sized hole was in the prison. It was obvious they were here to rescue Marcus.
Speaking of the guy, I saw The Overlord leading Marcus out. Aria was bringing up the rear of the three man group.
"Stop! Now!" I shouted, and pointed my gun at the three.
The Overlord turned and spoke in his deep voice again.
"Jun. I hope you've changed your mind. I want you to join me."
"Jun, please. You've got to trust him!" Aria shouted.
"Get lost, the both of you! Aria, you betrayed us! And whoever you are, you're as good as dead!"
I raised my gun. Reggie was catching up to me. When I raised my gun, Marcus sprinted as fast as he could towards me. I saw the glistening of a knife, and didn't have enough time to pull the trigger.
Luckily, Reggie came to my rescue.
My old friend tackled Marcus to the ground. He smashed the bastard twice in the nose, and blood ran out. Reggie made Marcus look like a kitten in comparison.
While the two of them were fighting, I ran over to The Overlord.
"Jun, put the gun down. No one needs to die. You and your friend can join us!"
"Fuck off." I put it simply, and raised my gun.
The Overlord grabbed the end of my weapon, and we struggled. Aria stood motionless at the side.
"Jun! Stop this, or die!"
"I'd rather die than betray what I believe in!"
"I hold the virus that ravaged your town! Join me, or I release it!"
His attempt at a threat? I kicked him in the chest, and he fell over. I grabbed the gun quickly, and fired.
He'd started to roll out of the way, but the bullet collided with his right hand. Instead of blood his hand shattered. He was wearing a prosthetic on his arm. Or was he a robot, or android of some kind?
What?
My confusion was met with a bullet. Aria had shot me.
I looked down, and saw blood spreading across my chest before I collapsed.
Well, this day was unexpected.
