Broken Down

I was dragged across the snow by Marcus, who I still couldn't believe to be alive. Bullet in my leg, no help on its way. Yep, things were looking great.
Back in the bunker, I was thrown into the same room. The corpse of the guy Jun shot lay perfectly still and pale.
Marcus leant down over his body, before tying me back up and smashing my head with his fist.
"How-how are you still alive?" I asked through gritted teeth.
"I'll tell you. Not out of respect. But for the fact that I will kill you soon. I want you to know why you will die, and why I hate you more than anything. When you stabbed me in the chest, one of my most trusted lieutenants, a medic, pronounced me dead. Your friend, Jun, accepted this as he was too busy aiding you, who'd passed out. Back at the Coldheart kingdom, I was kept alive on medical support. The people were outraged that I lost a fight and that we were using technology to keep me alive. So my medic came up with a solution. He created a drug, one that creates synthetic blood. I must take this every two hours, to keep myself alive, as I could not live on technology as it was a disgrace to my people, and our heritage. This also gave me a chance at having my revenge on you!"
His medic had created a drug for him to take, one that keeps him alive.
"Actually, I have something to show you. Follow me. Now!"
I limped after Marcus, bullet wound bleeding. Hopefully Jun would get me help, soon.

In a white room, a body lay connected to many tubes and wires. A heart monitor beeped slowly.
"Remember her, Rivio?"
The cold, white hair. The pale skin. The bullet wound to the head.
"Lizzy. Elizabeth. You shot her in the head. She's in a medically induced coma, and won't wake up for years."
I couldn't even speak. This comatose body was once my best friend.
"Kill her. Let her off this machine, she doesn't deserve-"
"Shut up! This was because of you!" He shouted.
"I thought technology was a disgrace."
"I abandoned that idea when the Coldhearts joined your people. My people gave up. They became weak. When I kill you, the whole country will become strong again."
He was interrupted by gunfire. Two men entered the room, and fired at Marcus. Blood didn't come out, but then I realised they were using tranquilliser rifles. Aria then ran in too.
"Rivio! You're oka-"
I interrupted her with a gripping hug.
"Woah, calm down! We need to get out of here, the whole place is coming down!" As if on cue, a loud explosion came from above.
"No, wait Aria. I need to do something."
I walked over to Lizzy's body and turned off the life support. Finally she'd be at peace. I was sorry it had to be this way.
"Okay Aria, let's go."
So, with Aria, a captured Marcus, and two of my own soldiers, I escaped the bunker. This time, it was for good.

Back at town, I was relieved. I was treated for my wounds, and sent home within an hour. Jun met me.
"Hey, looks like you're alright?" He said to me.
"I guess. How've things been?"
"Quiet. People seem happy, but we need to take care of this LR unit, or whatever they call themselves."
"That's good, and yeah we do."
A gunshot rang out, and I ducked for cover.
Jun didn't. He fell, crippled with pain. Blood ran out from his stomach.
I looked up, to see Marcus holding the gun.
Then he set his sights on me.
