Blinded By Love

Rivio held out his hand while he was on the floor. I guess he expected me to help him up.
"No! Rivio, man, we were like brothers! You aren't the same! You've changed! God knows what those fuckers have done to you..."
"Fine. So be it."
Reggie was in shock from seeing his nephew be the evil Overlord. Frankly, I was too!
Aria helped Rivio to his feet, and he turned around to me and said, "You'll regret this!"
As the two of them walked away, I realised that this could not carry on. If they walked away, they'd attack again. And again. And again.
I grabbed my gun and ran towards them. Aria instantly turned around and fought with me. Reggie pushed Rivio back, but the gun suddenly went off.

Aria fell to the floor, blood streaming from her stomach. Oh shit!
I ran to her side, and stemmed the blood flow. Even if we were enemies now, she was once my best mate!
"Jun.....he's....not the same. I was blinded....blinded by love.....the Rivio we knew.....died in that base a year ago. He was a.....tough bastard." She closed her eyes peacefully.
"Reggie! Take Aria to hospital!"
The tank of a man scooped Aria into his arms and sprinted to the hospital. Hopefully it wasn't too late! She'd been one of my best friends once, and I hoped she would be again.
"You fucker! She's gonna die because of you!" Rivio charged at me.

I ducked out of the way, and tackled him to the floor. I got a good punch in before he kicked me off. While I was winded, he grabbed the gun, and fired. Luckily, it was empty! I tackled him again, but we rolled along the ground.
"Stop man! I'm not your damn enemy! The LR unit is!"
"No, they're the good guys! You've corrupted the country!"
"That the shit they told you?"
He kicked me in the face, but I grabbed his foot and pushed him to the ground. Three punches to the face shut him up, but he kneed me in the chest. He reached for the gun again, and I was weakened. My chest wound from Aria had opened up.
"Fuck....goodbye Jun." He loaded the shotgun.

Out of nowhere, Reggie ran in, picked up Rivio and slammed him into the ground. Rivio was out cold in one second.
"Alright mate! You look like shit! Better get to the hospital now, lad!"

At the hospital, Reggie told me they were operating on Aria. She was expected to be fine. I guess she was back on our side now. Rivio had been taken in for questioning.
"Well....this has been a crappy day." I said to Reggie.
"You could say that again!"
I went to see Rivio. He had his head in his hands.
"Jun? Look, I don't know what's happening to me. I know we were friends once, but my mind...."
"We're gonna get you fixed. I'm sure of it. I just need to know about the LR unit? Who is their leader?"
"I am."
"Well, will they fall apart now?"
"No. They'll find someone else. It's either....." He gripped his head yet again.
"Rivio, calm down...."
"LET ME GO! LET ME GO! FUCK YOU JUN! I WILL KILL YOU! I'll......." He broke down in tears.
I walked away. He was my best damn friend! But now......

News reached me the next day. Rivio had broken free?
And he'd sworn revenge upon our town.
