Anabella's POV
I live with my parents and three brother's Mason, Damon, and Ian. Ian and Damon are the eldest, 20 and 19. Mason the youngest, 14.
We were all never that close because I was the only girl. My best friends, Aubrey and Dean always have my back. Since I'm graduating next year, I have to focus more on which college I decide to attend.
Tonight is one of those nights where I just do homework. I stay in all day and study for tests all night. That's how my life goes.
"Ana!" My mother calls to me from downstairs, "dinner is ready!" I set my books down on my computer desk an make my way down the stairs to join my family for dinner. The smell if lemon chicken and rice fills my nostrils.
"It smells great mom." I comment. She smiles.
"Thanks sweetie." She says and sits down at the table. Mason walks down the stairs with his head phones blaring. I roll my eyes and when he sits, I yank then out if his ears.
"Take them out!" I shout. "We're eating dinner."
"Whatever." He says. I ignore him and rip a piece of my chicken off my fork. I place that piece into my mouth and savored every chew.
"Honey, Aubrey called and said that she wanted to speak to you." My mother said.
"Did you ask her what she wanted?" I asked.
"I thought you didn't like it when I did that?" She asks puzzled. I totally forgot about that.
"Oh yeah. Thanks for remembering." I says and excuse myself from the table. I don't know why she didn't just call my cell.
I get back to my room and call Aubrey. "Hey, what's up?" I ask.
"Nothing I just wanted to see if you wanted to come out tonight." She says. I begin to hesitate my answer. I wanna stay home a study but do that almost every day.
"Okay." I agree, "I'll see you at 8."
"Okay. I'll see you." She says and hangs up the phone. I toss my phone onto my bed and walk back downstairs to tell my mother about my plans.
"Okay sweetie." She says.
When I get back to my room, I decide to pick out my outfit. A nude crop top & matching pencil skirt. I laid them out on my bed and continued with my with my studying.
•••
When it was about 6 at night. I decided to get into the shower and start getting ready. After I was all dazzled up, I called Aubrey to see where she was. "I'm coming. Dean is coming with us." She says.
"Okay, I'll see you guys." I say and hang up. I head downstairs to see all my brothers and my father piled up on a couch in the living room watching the game. In shake my head and walk past them. But Dad caught a glimpse of my outfit and his mood changed.
"What are you wearing?" He asks me. I roll my eyes. Here we go again.
"Dad,I'm going out. I'm 17. I'm wearing what I want to wear." I say.
"Ana, you look like a---" He says before the doorbell rings. Aubrey and Dean are here. I rush towards the door and open it to see my friends.
"Ready?" They ask me.
"I am." I say and follow them to Dean's car.
We arrived, the music was loud. The song Often was blaring. As we walked through the door, we began dancing through the crowd. We make our way to the bar,I don't drink liquor so I just ordered a Pepsi. Dean ordered a beer and Aubrey ordered a shot. After our drinks, Aubrey and Dean went back onto the dance floor. I decide to stay and wait a little before joining them.
As I watched and waited, I saw a good looking guy walk up next to me and take a seat. I glance over quickly to see him properly. He had black hair and a piercing in his ear. He was wearing a grey t-shirt and baggy pants. I looked at his arm and noticed a tattoo. Was he in a gang? He looked at me and smiled. I smiled back and then looked away.
