Montana's POV
"Class, you are dismissed." My Pre-AP Math teacher turned around to erase the white board. I slid out of my seat, binder and notebook in hand while I walked to my locker.

I don't know why, but ever since last week, I've been feeling a bit dazed. Every time I walk through the halls, I need to clutch something or I'll fall. It's rather sickening. I keep my head held high, even when my breathing gets faster, and I can feel my own pounding heart.

I stared down at the white heels I was wearing. Automatically, I knew it was a mistake. I gulped and shot my head back up.

I met the jet black hair of Hail. "Earth to Mo! You there?" She waved a hand in front of my face. "I'm fine." I said, blinking rapidly to recollect my surroundings. Hail sighed, "I'm starting to worry about you, you know that, right Mo?" I nodded and gulped down saliva in my throat.

She stopped me from walking any further inside the halls. "Are you sure? I'm worried.  It's like your getting sick." She looked at me with wide eyes and then cracked a laugh. I bit my lip and smiled back, not even sure if that was a joke anymore.

"So, where's your brother?" Hail asked. "Weren't you there in the morning?" I asked. "Ah, I wasn't listening." We laughed. I knew Hailey had a crush on Kyle, I just couldn't bring myself to think about having a mini Hailey walking around calling me Aunt Mo.

"I don't know. He's probably at the skate park. He told me that last time." I convinced myself to believe that. But deep down, I felt like Kyle wasn't really at the skate park. He wouldn't ditch to do something that stupid. Mom and Dad rose us up better than that. "Really?" Hailey wasn't buying it as much as I hadn't.

"I seriously-" My voice hitched and I stopped midway in the hall. My breathing got harder and I felt my heart race like a cheetah. My heart was pounding loud in my ears, and my loud breathing had caught the high schools attention.

I heard a siren-like noise before I covered my ears and shut my eyes. Like all the times in the bathroom before, I breathed in so much air, but this time, I couldn't exhale.

That's when everything turned black and I fell to the floor with the whole high school watching. I passed out.

Hailey's POV
"Really?" I wasn't buying what Mo was trying to sell. Her brother wasn't at a skate park. I knew Kyle. He knew me. I knew he wouldn't hang with hippies at the skate park for crap.

I tried to think of all of the possibilities of what Kyle could be doing. It'd been a while since he'd ditched, and I knew it was getting harder for him, you know, being a teenager and all. What could he be doing.

"I seriously-" Mo started, but she stopped in her tracks. Her voice had hitched, and she was left standing in the hall, breathing like someone had just drowned her. She was hitting her chest where her heart was, and looking around, for some help.

Before I knew it, the whole high school was watching the scene of Mo, one of the most popular girls in the school, start breathing and acting hysterically.

Then, before I could run up to her, she fell backward, blacking out. "What the-" I felt my eyes get wide as the crowd surrounded Mo.

I pushed my way through, trying to get to my bestie. Not knowing if she was dead or not, I felt my breathe get harder until I couldn't suck it up anymore. I started to cry.

By her side, I held her head as my friend had passed out. I cried for a few minutes, rage building inside of me as all of the students watched the entire scene.

"You pieces of crap! Get a teacher!" I screamed at the very top of my lungs. I swear I'd never screamed so loud or acted so wildly insane. The crowd only stood two feet away, none of them being brave enough to move. "You mother..." I screamed again, tears bursting from my eyes to Montana's dress.

I sat in the nurses office as the nurse checked on Mo. I had stopped the water works, hearing news of her not being dead, but I was definitely ticked off at the fact that they thought everything was minor, and the "trained professional nurse" could handle it.

"You can leave now sweetie." The nurse smiled. "I'm not moving an inch." I said right I front of the schools' principal and whole school board watching the scene. "Hailey Mills, you know better." The nurse spoke. "Well if your so smart, where are the professionals?" I asked. "I am a pro." The nurse argued. "Whatever helps you sleep at night." I said.

Honestly, I'm not great at hiding my emotions, and I'm pretty stubborn when it comes to my friend passing out.

Then, out of the blue, rapid breathing began, and I shoved the nurse out of the way. There, Mo had finally blinked her eyes open.
