The Defenders Part 2

Shadow was thrown into a street lamp, with it falling down, sparking. His uniform was torn beyond repair, with one ear down, and a eye bruised shut. "Pathetic, like the rest of your race." The robot spoke darkly. "Yet your design was based off a hedgehog." Shadow weakly cracked.

Angry, the metallic cyborg grabbed him by the neck, and held him in the air. "How are you going to be trash talking, even you won't even have a throat." Metal Sonic then chuckled. Out of his other wrist, another blade shot out, like the one Shadow broke on his left arm.

"You end me huh? W-what's that gonna do..? I've got a team, and the whole agency of GUN. How can you possibly win?" Shadow spoke. "Once I finish you and your pathetic killer organization, this world is doomed. Right to its very core. And nothing is gonna stand in my way!" It laughed maniacally.

They both then heard yelling. Shadow gazed up, then back down at Metal Sonic. "You mean like that?" Shadow cracked again. He then barrel rolled out of the robot's hold. "What?!" It said in shock, and looked up. "INCOMING!!!" It saw a person falling straight towards him.

He then crashed directly on Metal Sonic, smashing him 5 feet deep into the ground. Shadow looked back over, and saw the warrior. He quickly jumped off Metal Sonic, and joined Shadow. "Kicked both of your asses huh?" The man said, in the same uniform as Shadow, but had a airborne helmet on.

"Save it. He's getting back up." Shadow said sternly. They both got ready, for another attack. They watched Metal Sonic get back up, but something was different. He was missing his right arm. "This son of a bitch just won't stay down.." Shadow remarked.

"Crap... Where are the rest of The Defenders??" The airborne soldier asked. "Silver and Tails are getting the civilians away from this area, you and I are here, Rouge is bringing the chopper around, and Shade is at HQ." He answered, still eyeing the rising mechanical monster.

"Then Rouge better hurry with that damn chopper." Sonic spoke, extending a blade from his wrist gauntlet. "You think you can defeat me... Look at you. A parasite... You're wanting to stop a machine from destroying your city... But the most dangerous weapon of all.. Is flesh and bones." It said, as every bit of it sparked.

"Get ready.." Shadow quietly said to Sonic. "You still don't get it do you.. My plans are unstoppable. The fucking Marines wouldn't stop me.. What makes you so special?" It said, as it slowly limped up to the two. "One, we're The Defenders. Two, we have a few tricks up our sleeves. And three... Uhh... You're stupid!" Sonic remarked. Shadow just rolled his eyes.

"Tricks... I like tricks... You wanna see mine?" It said. Then, two small slots shot out of the sides of his head, each with metal teeth at the end. He shot them out, hitting both of the hedgehogs. They were instantly electrocuted by the tasers.

They screamed in pain as they crippled to the ground. "Try and catch me without your flyboy!" He laughed, then flew off into the air again. Shadow and Sonic laid on the ground, recovering from their shock. "Screw this guy. I'm ending this shit." Sonic said, annoyed.

He threw off his helmet, and pressed a button on his left wrist gauntlet. The pack on his back, ejecting two thrusters on each side. He then flew off into the air. "What's up with all the flying away today.." Shadow complained, then quickly followed behind by running.

"This way everyone! This way!" Silver and Tails both directed. They guided whole crowds of civilians out of the area of the city, with help from the police. But as everyone ran through, they heard a loud crack coming from the sky. Silver looked up, and saw Metal Sonic fly by. And behind him, was Sonic with a jetpack.

"Shit. Tails stay here! I've gotta help Sonic!" Silver ran in that direction. "Silver! I'm coming with you! Let me help!" Tails then trailed him. Only to be stopped by Silver's hand. "Sorry Tails. You're still just a teenager. You can't get this involved." Silver then floated in the air.

"I'm a part of this team too! You guys never let me help! Without me, The Defenders probably would have never even been founded!" Tails shouted, angrily. "Stay here!!" Silver yelled sternly. Tails stayed where he was, as Silver bolted off into the air.

He saw the smoke trail left by Sonic's jetpack, and followed it. "Sonic! Where are you! I'm hot on your trail!" Silver yelled in his wrist communicator. "I'm headed down 10th and bell! This bastard just won't let up!" He heard Sonic yell back.

"Down 10th... I know a shortcut!" Silver shouted in glee. "No! Silver don't-

Silver then turned his communicator off. He turned sharply down another street, ready to catch Sonic and Metal Sonic. He flew so fast, he could hear the upcoming roar of their engines. "Now I've got ya you son of a bitch.." He snickered under his breath.

As he saw the the head of Metal Sonic reveal from behind the building, he sped up as fast as he could. Then, Sonic appeared right behind him. "Finally... He falls into the trap.." Metal Sonic said happily to himself. Metal stopped in his tracks, not to far from a school building.

He then fired shoulder rockets at the two. Silver and Sonic both dodged the missiles with ease, waiting to take their turns. As Silver dodged one, he held his gauntlet up, and fired a magnetic harpoon hook. It hit the mechanical beast right in the torso.

He then tigger down hard, throwing Metal Sonic on to the street. "HIT EM NOW!!" He yelled at Sonic. Sonic then held out his wrist blade, and flicked his wrist. The sword went straight through his abdomen, as they saw him motionless.

Silver and Sonic then both slowly descended to the road, cautiously. "Is he dead..?" Silver questioned, as he slowly tip toed up to it. He and Sonic got a good look at him, before they got any closer. They saw its digital eyes, nearly extinguished.

They finally got feet away from him, and stared at him, who was 3 feet deep in the sidewalk by the school building.
"Look who's grounded now.." Sonic cracked, followed by a high-five from Silver. It didn't move. Just stared at them.

"Hahahahaha..." It then started to laugh. "Uh... Why's he laughing?!" Silver said fearfully. "Hahahaha... HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! You fools!!" It laughed menacingly. Silver and Sonic both slowly backed away. Then, they saw the turbine in the middle of his chest, start to blink red. It then started to beep.

"Oh shit! IT'S A BOMB!!" Sonic yelled. He and Silver then both started running away. But as they ran in fear, Silver realized something. The bomb was only feet away from the school building. "NO!!! THE KIDS!!!" Silver then screamed as loud as he could.

He was about to run back, but Sonic grabbed him by the neck with his elbow, and fell to the ground. "DOWN!! NOW!!" He screamed. As he fell, they both closer their eyes, as they heard and felt the detonation of the explosion. They felt the warm heat burst off, and felt small shards of shrapnel hit them in the shoulders and cheeks.

Silver slightly opened his eyes, and saw the flaming blaze of the building. It came crumpling down, with a giant hole in the side of it. "NNNOOOOOO!!!!" Silver screamed with tears. He just witnessed the murder, of over 1,000 children.

Sonic stared at the sight, in horror. He shook, he was so shocked. "Oh my god..." He then started to tear up.

"He killed... Those kids.." Silver sobbed.
