They hallways of the Defenders HQ fell quiet. Not a sound was stirred in the empty building, as no one was present. That was, until a loud banging sound echoed throughout the large halls. An air ventilation grate was thrown down from the ceiling of the 18th floor.
From there, a dark figure lunged from the hole, and planted on the floor.
It looked around with a sword in hand, ready to strike any foe. As she saw it was clear, she sheathed her sword in her back. Knowing it was safe, she took off her mask. Revealing, a tan muzzle with red and brown hair, and blue eyes."Now then... Where the hell is the control room.." She wondered to herself. She gazed down both sides of the hallway, and chose a place to start. She went down all the way to the left end, and was unsuccessful. When she turned back around to go right, she saw a door that was left wide open.
It was an automatic sliding door, that had a faint light emitting from it. "Bingo." She smirked. She slowly scanned the room from around the corner, then crept in. There, she saw the front of the room, with the massive monitor on display.
"Scourge, I found it." She spoke into her handheld radio. "Alright. Do you see a massive control panel anywhere with a red lever on it?" He questioned back. She gazed around, then jogged toward the controls with the lever in the center. "Found it. What do I do?" She questioned.
"Underneath that control panel, there is a space just wide enough for you to place the detonator. Easily pry the cover board off." She did as told, and slept slid of the top metal cover of them buttons. "You should see a small space barely large enough to fit that explosive. Stick it in, the close the panel." He instructed.
She easily put the cover back in place, then dashed out of the room. "Alright. That's the last one." She smirked and wiped the sweat off her forehead. "Okay, coming back to ba- she stopped. "What? What's wrong?" He asked her. She didn't answer, but he knew she was listening.
"They're back! I hear the elevator shaft starting." She whispered into the radio. "Shit. Hurry, get out of there Fiona!" Scourge silently shouted. She put the radio back on her belt clip, and put her mask back on. She then vaulted back into the vent, and closed it with the grate.
__________________________"Take us to the cell block." Silver blankly orders the building. The elevator doors closed, holding all 6 prisoners, himself and Shade. Almost not a single word was exchanged in the elevator. There was too much negative energy.
Once the elevator jerked, the doors once again slid open. Silver then led the prisoners didn't the cell-filled hallway. He scanned his handprint, automatically opening the prison door. Silver didn't instruct them to go in, they just assumed that's where they go. So, they did.
It was a nifty cell. It had a decent sized table, a few chairs, the beds, an actual couch and the small, closed off bathroom in the corner. As they stepped in one at a time, Silver deactivated their stasis-cuffs. Once they were all free, he shut the door to the cell.
Almost nothing was said. Just an exchange of depressed or angered eye glances. Silver nodded, then began to walk off. "Silv.." He then heard. He quickly turned around and looked at the group. Sonic has his hands pressed up against the glass, with a destroyed look. The entire wall was glass covered, in replacement for bars.
Silver just sighed and walked back over to it. "You know I didn't ask for any of this.." Silver sighed. Sonic didn't answer, he just kept staring at him. "We all had sides, Silver. We had choices." He once again tried to persuade him.
"Persuading... Won't do anything, Sonic. Don't even try it." Silver gazed at him with blurry vision. "You know we'll get out of here.." Sonic then brought up. He dropped one of his palms to his side and kept one flat on the glass. "I don't doubt it.." Silver said. He then put his palm on the glass, right where Sonic's was.
"And when you do... I'll catch you again. Don't make this any harder, Sonic. Please join us. All of you. Don't be stated as criminals." He begged Sonic. Then, Sonic backed up, and took his hand off the glass. "We'd rather be criminals... Then betray what we believe in." Sally said, as Sonic grabbed her waist.
"Then that's your call, Sonic. Not mine." Silver said, then turned around. He walked down the hallway, and exited through the elevator.
---------------------------------------------As Silver came up the elevator, he was halfway through getting his armor off. She the elevator doors opened, he saw Rouge and Shade walking down the hallway. They were walking towards their break room/conference room. "What are they up to now.." Silver sighed to himself.
He stepped out of the automatic armor slot, and dragged his suit with him as he followed them. "Now what are you two do- He stopped, as he entered the room. He witnessed Shade and Rouge, talking to Blaze. He dropped his suit on the ground, as everyone turned around in shock.
"Blaze..?" Silver questioned. Shade and Rouge both stared at him with fairly large eyes. Silver's gaze became stern as he looked at the two. "You two.. Out. Now." He gritted his teeth. Fearfully, they both quickly dashed out of the room. Leaving, the couple alone in the room.
Silver then walked in from the doorway, and pressed the red button the shut the sliding door. "Blaze.." Was all he said. "Okay Silv... Before you get mad- "What the eff are you doing here!! You aren't safe in the city!" He calmly yelled.
"I'm here because you've become a wreck, Silver! I called Shade to tell her to keep a close eye on you. But all she said was you kept shutting the team out. So, I knew I had to personally look after you. As usual." She crossed her arms. "Don't worry about me! I have them locked up downstairs! I'm safe!" Silver defended.
"So what puts me in danger?" She said with sass. Silver just sighed, and sat down in one of the roller chairs at the table. "Silver... I love you. You know that. And I know you just want to protect me. But.. I also need to know you're safe! I am in constant stress with you away... Do you know what kind of toll that puts on a woman?!" She flipped.
"Yes. I do. Trust me. But, if anything were to happen to you I probably wouldn't even be here. I'd be in a federal freaking prison, for doing something I'd regret." He spilled. "Which is exactly my point. While I'm here, you know I'm safe. You know where I am. And you KNOW you can still protect me here." She stood up and walked over to him.
"God I hate arguing with you.." He pinched the bridge of his nose. Blaze was barely listening, as she closely inspected Silver. Then, she closely navigated around to his eyes. She moved his hand out of the way, and stared at him. She couldn't stop looking at the bags and rings form around his eyes, from lack of sleep.
"Okay young man, stand up." She then bossed. He looked at her strangely, with a shocked and confused look. "Stand. Up." She said more sternly. Silver just rolled his eyes, and stared down at her. "Go on. Off to bed." She slightly smirked.
His jaw was dropped, as he slightly squinted one eye. "Are you being serious right now??" He questioned. "Now." She pointed out the door. He slowly turned around, and walked towards the door. He hit the button, and saw the door slide open.
"Okay... Mom." He said grumpily and sarcastically. He left to go to his quarters, with Blaze not too far behind.
