Snoring was the only thing heard from the heavily secured door, halfway down the hallway. But the men that ran by, just ignored it. However, the mysterious sleeping caper had no clue they were running for the most important reason of their cause.

The female fox slept partially comfortably, in he quarters. But being the highest peers of the base, her room was basically a suite. In it was a large flatscreen tv that was on, a refrigerator, a king sized bed, and a massive desk with 3 monitors. Which, were all holographic.

On her desk, sat her belt. And something on it was vibrating and emitting a static sound. It slowly began to get louder, even growing over the sound of the TV. The red fox steadily began to awake, hearing the sound of the static.

Her eyes rose with annoyance. She knew the static sound, and what it meant. She moaned, being awoken, and threw off her covers. As she did so, she began wilting over to the desk. She grabbed her belt, then attached it around her waist.

Se then took off a small radio, and but it up to her face. "This better be good." She said, frustrated. "Yes ma'am. Very important news." The man on the other end spoke. "I'm waiting." She said impatiently. "We have just received word, of the status of the raid ma'am."

She then looked at her monitors. "Put the men on screen." She then said, exhilarated. After she ordered, a video then popped up on her center screen. "Go ahead corporal." She said kind of loud. "We have good news Fiona. Very good news." The wolf with a scar over his eye, informed.

"Well spit it out damn it!" She finally yelled. "Our raid has been successful ma'am." After hearing the sentence, her eyes quickly bolted open. Years worth of memories, then filled her mind within seconds. She stared at the wolf, seeing the cargo getting loaded on a massive cargo plane in the background.

"D..Does that mean..." She shook with shock.

"We found em."

Fiona dropped her radio on the ground, breaking the back of it. Her eyes shook, as she started feeling every part of her body tingle. She slowly brought the mic up to her mouth as she shook. "B-bring him back to base.." She quietly said. "Understood ma'am. We will arrive at 0:1200. Out." He said, then the screen flashed to black.

From then, she just stared at the reflection of herself. She saw the tears slowly sneak down her face. She blinked rapidly, trying to get herself back under control. As she did so, she saw the pair of shades sitting by her computer.

They had a crack down the side of the left eye, with it leading into a hole in the eye piece. "Finally.." She silently whispered to herself with tears. As she took one last look at the glasses, she then bolted out of her door, straight down the hallway.

The red fox quickly walked down the hallway, accompanied by 5 other guards behind her. "Where is he." She said loudly as they came upon a large, steel door. "Right through here ma'am." One agent said. Two of them were guarding the giant door, and opened it as she came upon it.

As it opened, the circle on the center of it spun. Two teeth unhooked from each other, then the door slid open into two separate doors. She continued to race walk passed the doors, into a lab-like room. It was fairly large, with catwalks and smaller rooms with viewing windows on top.

Two more agents, one male one female, both saluted her. She ignored the two immediately. "Take me to him. Now!" She said desperately, as she interrupted the two. They nodded, then turned around and lead her through the large laboratory.

"He's right over there." They stopped, and pointed to a large table-like machine. But, it wasn't a normal operating table. It had a big ice block on it, with straps holding it on. Fiona knew what it was, and ran up to the operator.

"How long before he's out." She said with a casual voice. "You're about to find out." He said, then turned around. "Alright everyone! Stand back!" The scientist then yelled. He quickly jogged to a room with a window, and nodded for Fiona to join him. They both got in the room with two agents, then sealed the door tight.

He turned a large dial, and flipped a few switches and knobs. "You might want to wear these." He said. She looked at him, and saw he had a pair of goggles in his hand. She quickly strapped them around her head, as did the worker.

"Beginning in 3....2....1... Light it up!" He then yelled. He pressed a final red button, and saw light immediately emit from the main lab. A orange laser was being fired at the block of ice. It was melting so fast and so warm, even the table began to glow red with heat.

"That's enough." She said calmly. But the operator didn't listen. He just kept watching. "I said that's enough!" She then yelled. He nodded, then pulled a big red lever downward. The laser power source was cut, as the room lost its large amount of light.

The machine drew so much energy, the lights and anything that used electricity, began to flicker. Fiona threw the goggles off, and ran out of the room. Many other scientists and other workers followed, and left their work stations as well.

As she got a closer view of the table, she was left in awe. The table was angled upwards, with the figure being slanted at an angle. She saw a perfect outline, of a green quilled hedgehog. He still had some ice chunks on him, but he was finally visible. He had a large scar on his torso, with his sharp teeth partially shown.

"Can you hear me..?" She then questioned in awe. It did not comply. It still sat there, motionless. She then easily crept up to him, and pressed her ear against his chest. As she thought all of the years spent on finding him were wasted, she felt a single heartbeat. Then another. Then another.

His arms slowly began twitching, as his his hands and head. She got off of him, and heard his steady breathing. She watched as his eye lids slowly shook and twitched, until parts of his blue eyes were visible. She gasped with her hands over her mouth, feeling the urge to cry again.

"Welcome back... Scourge." She finally sobbed with joy. His eyes were finally open, but blinking rapidly to adjust to the bright and flickering lights. He slowly brought his arm over his face, to keep from being blinded.
"Where... Am I.." His smooth voice finally spoke.

He looked down, and was finally able to make out other figures of people. But what really caught his eye, was the red one. The red fox with the yellow bow in her brown hair. "F..Fiona..." He said quietly as his voice then cracked. The shirtless hedgehog's vision was finally readjusted, as he looked around the room.

He looked around at all the workers, then looked at his hands. "Fiona... Where are we.." He said then looked back at her. "You're back home, Scourge. Finally." She said with a teary smile. He easily stepped off the table, and balanced himself on the ground.

As he did, Fiona went straight for a hug on the hedgehog. He was shocked at the sudden feeling, but hugged her back anyway. "I can't believe we finally found you. After all this time." She smiled. Ignoring her words, he just kept thinking to himself.

"How did I get here.." He questioned out loud. "It's... A long story. Involving those other bastardous hedgehogs." Her thoughts suddenly dropped. Then, it all flooded his mind again. "Of course... The hedgehogs." He said with awe. He thought about what all happened, before his cryogenic freezing. Involving, Tikal.

He knew, his own mind was back where it was supposed to be. "The hedgehogs..." He then gritted his sharp teeth and clenched his fist. He looked back at Fiona's innocent expression, and grinned. He grabbed her by the waist, and pulled her into a kiss.

As he pulled off, he saw the red on her yellow cheeks from her blush. "What are you all looking at... Back to
Work." He scolded. All the men and workers nodded nervously, and went back to their stations. He grabbed Fiona by the waist, and looked towards the open door she recently came through.

"It's good to be back.."
