The world is a horrible, ugly place.
Life is bloody terrifying,
But we somehow manage to smile through every day.
That's the beauty of the human race.
They never give up. But if one of them does,
They do it with an apology,
And some look at them as cowards,
Running from life's horrors.
But they do it, day by day,
They keep on going,
Even when there seems to be no silver lining at all.
They see the beauty and morbidity of Life.
All poems don't need to rhyme, and art doesn't need to be understood
To be beautiful.
To be beautiful, you only need to be you.
To roll with the punches,
Go with the flow.
Walk down well-worn paths,
And forge new ones out of nothing.
To be truly beautiful,
You must see how horrid and disgusting the world is,
And you need to try to fix it.
You need to make the world a better place,
Even if it's just to one person,
To truly be beautiful.
When I look at humans,
I see that everyone is capable of good.
Everyone can be beautiful,
If they really try.
Sometimes the most beautiful people
Are the scary-looking ones,
Or the ones no one cares to notice.
The shy girl who reads in the corner.
The boy who wears all black, and never makes eye contact.
The homeless man talking about second chances.
The kind people no one realizes are there.
To be beautiful, you must see beauty.
You must look at the stars
And say, "There's something out there."
Without the fear of judgement.
Befriend someone who is lonely.
Make their world better.
Don't say someone is weak because of their scars,
Tell them they're strong for putting up with life's crap.
Tell them they're beautiful for being themselves.
Tell them you care.
It might change their life.
It might change their world.
To be truly beautiful,
You don't have to be a hero and save someone from a flaming building.
The little things are what make you beautiful.
Little things.
Little things like saying "hello".
Little things like giving someone a hug.
Little things like telling someone they matter.
Little things like telling someone they are loved.
Little things like being a good person.
Little things like being you.
