She smells like strawberries and tears

She's been that way for years

With all the fights she'll never win

She just can't hold the river in

With all the battles she can't survive

She finds it hard to stay alive

The words in her head are sailing like ships

Yet not a sound escapes her lips

She smells like strawberries and heartache

With every tear, her heart breaks

She's been like this for quite a while

And no one's ever seen her smile

Though it's sad to say, it's no surprise

That her sadness led to her demise

And though they say they miss her so,

They never even said hello

She smelled like strawberries and longing

She felt like she was falling

She probably thought no one would care

As she stepped up on to the chair

And now I wonder if she was scared

As she tied the rope beneath her hair

But now I see her hanging there

Her body swaying in the air
