Pep-Talk

My life is a muddled mess.

I'm not sure where to go, not sure how I should dress.

Everyone knows their place, but I'm not sure of mine.

I'm not sure if I should question you, or just smile all the time.

I'm having troubles, can't you see?

I need a friend to set me free

Don't walk away in your social flock

All I need is a good pep-talk.

Tell me that it'll be okay.

Tell me that it's just a bad day.

I need to know that I'll be fine

Before I cross that accursed line.

My mind is a door, with a rusty lock,

But all that I need is a good pep-talk.

I need a shoulder to cry on,

Before I've finally moved on

Yes, it's true-

I'm leaving you

But you'll never leave my heart.

I suppose it's true when people say

That love will tear us apart.

I honestly don't want to go

But honestly I do.

Honestly I really hate

Everyone but you.

No. That's not true.

You know that it's not

And I guess I forgot

That there's still some good in the world.

But now I realize that life is a scroll

Just waiting to be unfurled.
