This isn't really like any of my other poems, for a couple reasons. One, this is about an actual tragic historical event. Two, this was a school assignment. Three, I forgot to do this assignment as I wrote this in the notes app on my phone literally two minutes before I had to present it to the class. I almost cried :/
Salt in the water, blood, and tears.
It's gone on for far too many years.
Chained together at the bottom of the sea,
Screaming, "WHY MUST YOU DO THIS TO ME".
Men and women crying out,
Wanting to be free,
But how can they be when they're all trapped
At the bottom of the sea.
Nobody remembers how hard they tried,
Not many know how or why they died.
So take some time to remember with me,
And pray they're at peace at the bottom of the sea.
