That's What Demons Do (Sequel to Strawberries and Suicide)

We all have demons inside our soul

Trying to make us lose control

Turning our hearts as black as coal

As that's what demons do

Our demons scream terrible words

The most horrible things that you've never heard

They'll tell you you're a gallows bird,

As that's what demons do

And these demons that we hold inside

Well, of course they've told some lies

But I can tell you believe them, from the noose that you've tied

As that's what demons do

And now I see you hanging there

Your feet dangling in the air

Your demons have turned you to despair

As that's what demons do

I wish you could've seen that their words were untrue

But now I'm stuck trying to get through

And I think that I just might join you

Because all that I'm doing is missing you.

The demons in my soul are trying to cut through

And I see now that you won't come to,

So I'll tie my rope right beside you

Because my demons told me to.
