Chapter 11-Meeting Zak

Zak's POV

I get off the ground and go over to our van, the doors are unlocked and the keys are still in it, Kevin has just made it over to his car I speed out of the driveway a lot faster than him in his sports car. I know we are doing the same thing we are both going after Vanessa.

Vanessa's POV

I drive until I end up at a lake surrounded by trees I get out and sit on a large rock, I'm comforted by the splashing of the water against rocks and fallen branches. I came back to apologize to my dad and mom and reconnect with my sisters. I wasn't counting on seeing Kevin again, I haven't seen him since the day he left me at the hospital, seeing him again has reopened the wound and brought back the pain from it he really hurt me that day.

My thoughts are cut short by the sound of a car and the slamming of a car door. I look up only to see the guy who was fighting with Kevin earlier. He looked awful one of his eyes had turned a dark purple, his lip was busted and dried blood was smeared all over his face he continues walking over to me and stops by the rock I'm on.
"Mind if I join you?" I shake my head and he sits down next to me. "I'm Zak Bagans."
I look at him "Vanessa."

" I have been trying to get in touch with you."
I decide that this guy talks to much in my opinion,
"well I don't answer numbers I don't know. ",
"Are you here to help with the investigation?"

This catches my attention "what investigation?"
"The one my crew and I are doing for your sister, we are the ghost adventures crew we do a show on the travel channel "
I give him a blank stare then turn away from him.

"Why don't any of you understand how I feel?"
"You can tell me you know." Then it all begins to spill out. From the night I arrived at the house, to Kevin leaving me at the hospital because he had to go back on tour, to the last night I stayed with my sister. I even tell him about getting angry at my dad and telling him I wasn't his daughter.

By the time I'm finished I'm a mess and I have tears running down my face. He pulls me into his chest and wraps his arms around me, I haven't been held this way in a long time, and I have missed this feeling.
"You're the only person I've told." He looks at me and I notice he has blue eyes.
"You don't have to worry it can stay between the two of us, I would really like for you to do the episode with us."

I think about it this could be a chance to talk to Mel and let her know how much I miss her and I agree to do an investigation with Zak Bagans.

I sighed it felt good to let that out.... I looked up at him and almost cried seeing how hurt he was. Ugh Kevin. Why, is all I thought... I took out a shirt from one of my bags inside my car. I went down to the river and wet the cloth, took it back to Zak and slowly cleaned the blood away... I felt so guilty. After every dab I's ask him, "is is hurting.. Am I hurting you?"

He'd shake his head for no. When I was almost done I asked him one last time.. This time he cupped my face.... "Im fine... Thanks to you... Come on... Your family is waiting"
Anxiety took over me as he said this.. I was scared of.. whether they'd still love me...

I was afraid of whether even Mel wanted to see me or not....
But I had to do this..... I had to go back home....
