Running out of Time <A Gravity Falls Book>

2.Afraid

( This is my very first story and I hope anyone who reads it, likes it. )

Me and Dipper were having so much fun together. We decided to go to the forest since he said he wanted to show me something.
"So wait, you actually wore a
Lamb costume?" I asked trying not to laugh but Dipper was laughing himself causing me to let go as he nodded.
"When I was around that age. My Mom made me wear an Apple costume! So I would not be complaining!" I say and poked his side and he laughed. "You were an Apple?! Why?" he asked. "Because..." I sighed. "I used tI sing this stupid song about how I liked eating apples and I had no choice."

I smile at him. "Well now, you half to sing it to me!" He said poking my side now.
I giggled. "Not unless you sing the lamby song to me!?" I say defending my ego.

"Deal!" He said holding out his hand. I shook it and giggled. We looked at our surroundings and noticed we were at the forest.

"Follow me!" Dipper said and took my hand. I blushed.
We ran until we made it to a beautiful area.
There were beautiful water's that flowed down a small creek and the grass looked super clean and healthy making it the pelrettiest green color.
"Whoa..." I admired the scene.
"That's what I said..." he said.
I look down at me and dippers hands. We were still holding on to one another. I blushed and so did he. He let go slowly and coughed. "Sorry, if it made you... Uncomfortable." he said. "No i-its alright dip." I said rubbing the back of my arm.

We walked over next to a large rock and sat down in the soft grass. The sound of the water was so soothing and calming.
"How did you find this place?" I ask. "Well the forest is a place I go to a lot and I just happened to stumble upon it one day." He explained.

The sun, by this point, was almost all the way down causing the sky to be a beautiful mixture of red, orange, and pink.
I lied back in the grass and took a deep breath.
Dippy layed down next to me and soon the stars were out.
"I used to love going out to the backyard. Watch the stars at night." I sighed breking the silence.

"Really?" Dip says. "Yeah. I would always look for the constolations.
But you know which one my favorite was?" I looked over to Dipper. He just shook his head.
"My favourite was always the big Dipper." I said finally looking back up at the sky.

I blushed realizing what I had just said. Then I hear a phone go off. Dipper stood up and took out his phone. "Hello?" he started out with. "We are fine!" He continued.
"O-ok we are on our way." I heard and I frowned some what.
"Mabel was told by grunkle Stan to call. We half to head back to the shack." Dipper said offering his hand to help me up.

I took his hand and saw his cheeks go red. We walked back to the mystery shack and when I opened the door I saw Mabel dressing up waddles.

"There you kids are!" I heard stans gruff voice again and He came from the kitchen.
"So how was the tour of the town?" Mabel asked. "It was fun." I said.

I felt my phone vibrate. "I will be right back." I said and ran up the stairs and into tum room.
I shut my door and pulled out my phone. I had a message from an unknown number.

I looked at the message and all that was on it was this:

Wr wkh Vshfldo rqh: zhofrph wr judylwb idoov

I looked at the message closely but I didn't understand a single word of it.
I sighed. I put down the phone and got into My purple fuzzy shorts and gray t-shirt to wear to sleep. I walked out of the room and saw the twins room next door. The door was wide open so I let myself in and saw Dipper putting away that journal he was looking through.

"Godnight Dipper. I whispered seeing Mabel was in her bed fast asleep. He smiled. "Night Lilly pad." he said. I blushed in embarrassment. I winked. "Dipping sauce." I said and left the room. I got into My bed and turned out the light. All I could think about was that message.

Did it have some sort of meaning to it? I tossed and turned not even being terrified of the fact that I was in the dark. I eventually DID go to sleep but I only got two to three ours of sleep.

I woke up and groaned. I felt something at my feet and looked to see waddles. I smiled sleepily. I picked up labels pig and left my room and quietly came into the twins room.

It didn't help that the floor was sort of creaky so every step I took made the floor creak some. I set Waddles down next to mabel. "Now you stay with Mabel. I will do okay on my own... In the dark..." I whispered getting a weird feeling in my stomach.

I was about to open their door until I heard Dipper say, " Are you Sure your gonna be okay?" I turned around and blushed.
"Why w-wouldn't I be?" I stuttered.
"Don't think i didn't just hear you. Lilly. Are you scared of the dark?" he asked. I sighed.
Then I nodded. He stood up from his bed and followed me outside.

"Why didn't you tell Me?" he asked. "Because things are tough for me right now and I don't want you or Mabel worrying about me all the time." I say truthfully. " Lilly pad, it is okay to be afraid sometimes. And We would worry...yes...Because your with people that care for you... A lot." he said in a tired and meaningful voice.

"I know..." I said scratching the back of my neck. He smiled.
We walked into My room and He hugged me. "Lilly...your Not afraid of the dark..." he said. I looked at him confusingly. "Your only afraid of being alone in the dark...but your not alone." he said. I smiled and yawned. "Never will even half to be alone. I promise." he says. I nod. "Thank you. Dipper." I respond. "No problem Lilly pad." he says and I blush. "Goodnight. And remember...if you need anything you can count on me." He said.

We both smiled and I slipped into My bed. "Goodnight. I will." I reply. And with that he leaves. I went back to sleep with no problems...
