Running out of Time <A Gravity Falls Book>

23.Dante

( This chapter should be a bit more of action....sort of. But I was surprised to get this done this quick! )

Mabels POV

The next day I figured they would be back some time before sunset.
I smiled knowing that mission lipper was a success.

Dippers POV

I opened my eyes hearing the same stream flowing.
I looked at the sleeping girl lying next to me. She had nuzzled into me, her arms around me.

Her hair was in her face so I moved it around her ear.
She moves slightly. I pull her closer to me and she accepts me.

I remember the events of the previous night.
She was still in her short dress and converse.
Then she starts to wake up.
She yawns and looks at me with a goofy grin.
I chuckled.

She lets go of me and lies back in the grass.
It was silent until we heard a snap from the forest.

She turned frantically along with me.
"H-hello?" I yelled out.
She looked at me like I was dumb.

"Oh yes because if there was anyone out there they are gonna just yell out "Sup! I'm just here to stalk you and murder you!"
She teased.
I just rolled my eyes.

We heard more movement.
She stood up slowly.

Lilly's POV

I was hesitant to move forward, but I did.
"Lilly..." I heard Dipper whisper.
I heard a familiar growl...
Why was it farmiliar?
I backed up some hearing a snarl.
I got a I wanted to panic but a part of me was saying that I was completely safe...

"Dipper...go..." I said. He looked at me like I was insane.
"What?! No! Not without you.... He said.
I had no time for this....
"Dipper...I will be fine... GO!".I said and the snarl came louder and closer.

He took one last look at me until I could tell whatever was behind the shadows was about to pounce at me.
"NOW!" I yelled and was instantly tackled to the ground.
I saw a wolf that looked to be pretty big on top of me.

It was growling but when it began to sniff me...it stopped.
It backed off of me and licked my face.
What?!

I looked back at Dipper who was even more surprised as me.
He hadn't budged.
The very large canine licked my hand.
I was at first VERY hesitant...but then I let the wolf.
It accepted my petting.
"What the h-heck... How did you..."
I felt the stinging sensation on my face from the wolf's attack but it quickly was gone...
I had completely forgotten about my powers...
I began to get a flashback images of a past I don't remember came to me.

I looked at the dog...

Flashback

"Hey there buddy..." I whispered. I looked around the forest slowly.
Then looked down petting the wolf.
"Hey Dante..."
I say down on the cliff looking over the town...
I looked over at Dante. He was my loyal wolf... Although he was a bit younger, he was still very brave and nobel.
The Sun was setting and I could hear other wolves howling, which caused Dante to howl as well. I smiled at him.
He may have been a wolf ...but...
He was more than a dog to me.
I also am young but...
I grew up being tought to fight and become the monster that they wanted me to be...It was soon night fall and I needed to get heading out.
Before standing I took one glance at the small shack below and saw two kids on the front.

Curiouser and curiouser...

End of Flashback

I came back to reality and saw the wolf in front of me sitting.
I pet it again.
No... I pet him again.
"Dante?" I whispered sort of.
He perked up wagging his tail.

Definatly Dante from the flashback...
But I don't remember any of that?

"Lilly what just happened..."
He says.
I looked back and he takes a step forward. But Dante growls at him.
I look at the canine and pet him reassuringly.
He backs down and I stand.
"Dipper this is..." I pause looking at the two.
"Dante...." I finish.

He looks at me in a confused/Surprised/worried look.
( Haha... Ikr... )
I shrug and the dog licks me.
It was silent for a moment.
The water flowing is all I heard for that one second.
"And you know this... HOW?!?!" he yells. Dante gets tense for a moment.
"I-i don't know... I j-just d-do?" I stuttered.
He looked a bit flustered.
"You don't know?! Is there something your not telling me?!" he says.
"W-wha- no... I-"

"You know What... Until your ready to tell me what's going on...
I will be waiting at the shack."
He says.
I thought it would be different now...
But I guess I was wrong.
I was done with him messing with my emotions.
"You know what! Don't even wait for me!" I yell. I glance at the ring and slip it off.
I throw it at him and he picks it up from the grass.

"Because in done playing your sick game!" I say. I glance at Dante and sit right back down.
He looked at me angrily.

He walked off and I stayed with Dante. But Dipper wasn't my priority anymore.
I knew Dipper was a mistake from the beginning...
"You'll Syu with me... Right boy?" I whisper comforting Dante.

( I have so many plans for this book! Eeeek! No... I didn't just do that?! What? Don't look at me like that! )
