21.Promise me...

( Haha! Stutterish isn't a word...
I'm gonna try not to use it but if i don't know how to word something I might half to make another word up...
Only if absolutely necessary though. )

Mabels POV

I want out into town to talk to grenda and candy. I was going to meet up with them at Candy's house.
On the way I spotted Dipper leaned up against a building looking inside of a small, black box.
Because of my curiosity I decided to interrupt his staring contest with the box.
"So who's winning? You or that- Oh my gosh dipper! Your not gonna-"

He stops me. "What marry her? No! No Mabel why would you think that?!" he says
I calmed down.
"It's a promise ring...." he says.
I thought those two were cute together.
"So when are you gonna give it to her?" I asked.
He thought for a moment just blankly staring at the silver ring with her initials carved into it.

"I don't think I will be..." he says quietly.
"What? Why not? Dipdot... What's wrong?" I asked him.
"I got this before Bill made us into chess pieces and made Lilly his puppet. Ever since our fight,
Things have been...rough.
We are still technically not dating anymore."
He explains. I look at the ring, then back at Dipper.
"Well, listen bro bro... although I may not be the love expert...
Considering I 'fell in love' with a bunch of gnomes WHICH I thought was a vampire..."
I say. He chuckles some.
"...But I do know that you and Lilly are something that i,honestly, thought wouldn't last...
But you guys are SO perfect for each other. Surely you guys can get passed a silly argument."

I explain. I was sort of jealous of those two. To see them like this was...painful... In a way.

"Yeah..." He stares at the ring once more.
Then up at me. "Thanks Mabel...
I-i really needed that. And don't worry. I'm sure there is someone out there for you... I'm sure they're just waiting for someone just like you...
Akward sibling hug?"
He remembered...

I smile. I hug him. Then we do our silly little 'pat-pat' thing from a long time ago.

We go our separate ways and think about what Dipper said.
Was there really someone for me?

Dippers POV

I walked back to the shack to see Lilly sitting on the front steps.
I took a deep breath and walked up to her.
"Hey dip! What's up?" She says.
She looked up at me.

"Hey...so I actually wanted to talk." I say. I scratch the back of my neck.
"What about?" she asks scooting aside for me to sit.
"W-well... It's about us." I said.

"Oh...o-okay." She said. I say down next to her.

"Lilly... I messed up. and I really don't want something as small as this to get in the w-way.... I guess what I'm saying is...
I want to make a promise- no. A vowe." I explain.

She looked at me with her beautiful blue eyes...
Wow...
I pulled out the ring without the box.
Her eyes bulged wide.
"Uh... Dipper I can't-"

"It's not what you think..." I said.
I showed her the ring.
"It's my vowe to you that I will never hurt you... To love you for as long as I live...
To help you no matter the cost...
Will you please accept it?"

I came straight out. She was playing with her hair then she pulled it around on her right shoulder.

She took a little to answer.
The longer she took...the more I could see 'us' fading away.

But then her smile arose.

Lilly's POV

"Always and forever." I say.
I wanted it all back.
Every but of it.
He pulled on the ring and I could feel my face hear up.
"I really did miss you." I said.
I leaned my head on his shoulder.

We saw Mabel walking up. "Thank you Dipper."
I whispered. He turned and kissed me on the cheek.
But he didn't hear me.

His arm was around mine. It was
past sunset now.
I was out of my "funk" at This point and since I hadn't slept in a while I was extremely tired.
I yawned wrapping my arms around him.

I could hear his slight chuckles. "You wanna go inside?" he asked silently. I nodded. I was about to stand up when he scooped me up Bridal style.
"You know...I can walk!" I said.
"Yeah...." He said.
I rolled my eyes.

He brings me upstairs and lies me on my bed.
I yawned. "Goodnight Lilly pad..."
He whispered. My eyes were shut and I was barely awake.
"Goodnight dip..."
I said dozing off.
I heard the door shut and I fell asleep.

(The next chapter will be out either early morning thanksgiving or later that night around from 8-10 pm. But probably in the morning...
