I stood in the bathroom brushing my teeth with a new, spare toothbrush Jigga gave me. I had to deal with the pain coming from my jaw as I held my mouth open to make sure I get all of my teeth.
Jigga started to knock on the door as I went down to spit the toothpaste out of my mouth. I went to the door after and opened it up.
"I bought some stuff for you so you don't have to go back home right now," he told me. He already knows that Corey lives with me and is trying his best to help me avoid him.
I looked at the bag in his hand. "What is it?"
He pulled out some black skinny pants, a burgundy polo shirt, and Mac make up. I took the stuff with a smile. He basically bought me everything I needed to get ready for work.
"Thank you Jigga," I told him before giving him a hug, "you really didn't have to."
"You know I got you," he said before making his way out, closing the door as he did.
I threw the clothes on and tied my hair into a ponytail. I applied make up to my face and it made it look as if nothing happened to me. As for the bruises on my arm, they're kind of light and hopefully no one notices them.
I left out of the bathroom and checked the time on my cellphone. I have an hour to just chill before I start heading out.
"You good," Jigga asked me from the kitchen. He peeked his head from around the corner to look at me.
"Yeah, are you," I asked as I made my way to him. He had a bowl and a spoon out, milk, plus a box of his favorite cereal, Lucky Charms.
His grayish-brown eyes went from me to his breakfast. "I guess," he replied as he poured the cereal into the bowl.
He stood there shirtless showing off his caramel skin and muscular body. The big oversized sweats he had on were low enough to show off his blue boxers.
"I'm sorry for not telling you," I apologized to him. "It's whatever," he brushed me off while pouring milk into the bowl. He grabbed his spoon, then turned around, leaning against the counter.
"Don't just say that," I told him.
"No for real, it's whatever," he replied, "but you know what's not?"
"What?"
"The fact that he's putting his hands on you. That's the shit that's fucking with me. At the end of the day you going to run back to him and there ain't nothing I can really do," he shrugged before eating.
I stayed silent and he did the same, choosing to eat instead of talking on it again. I wish I could escape Corey, but I can't.
I watched as Jigga ran his fingers through his curly brown hair indicating that he's deep in his thoughts. Before I could ask him what he was thinking about, somebody rang the door bell.
He sat his bowl on the counter before leaving me in the kitchen. I followed behind him and sat on the couch while he checked it.
