The sun rose and set. Whilst I watched. Food came and went I didn't touch it. I wasn't hungry. I waited in silence waiting for something to happen. I wasn't tired. I wasn't happy. I wasn't hungry. I was scared. I stared out the window for another day. Declining all food and drink. On the second night I saw a string of lights. I assumed it was torched and watched as they drew closer. Suddenly they disappeared. And then I waited. Someone crashed into my room.
"Don't freak out," Matt whispered. He took my hand, "I can get us out of here," he said.
"Wait. There's people coming," I said.
"I know I saw them too. We should leave whilst we can," he said
"No. If it's who I think it is I should stay," I told him.
"You'll be safe with me," he said.
"No if he brought you he probably brought the others too. You know this right. They'll be here too. If we're lucky," I told him.
"What do you mean if we're lucky," he sounded worried.
"Come with me," I whispered. I took his hand in mine and took him out the room. I lead him down the stairs. I'd been here before. When I was dating James. He'd always been a dangerous character. I peered into the kitchen to find it empty. I pulled Matt down into the basement. My theory was proved right when I was four of the younger girls from the camp in the first room.
"Stay here Matt I need to find the keys," I told him. I walked to the desk at the end of the long narrow room. I switched on the lights and got the keys. I let opened all the cells. Frightened girls and a few boys filled into the centre room. Matt lead them all into the back yard. I didn't follow them. Instead I locked the door and went to investigate what the inhabitants had been doing. I tipped toes through the house. I reached the the top floor and looked into one of the old attic rooms. I wandered in shutting the door behind me. One of the walls had a map on it. I froze. This was the map me and James put up in here when we were dating. The ink was fading on the cards stuck around the map tacks attached to string and pinpointing the cards to places. I couldn't see the lights from up here when I glanced out the window. I had no clue what was going on as the house had been deserted. I stared at the wall. Looking at my past ambitions. To travel to so many different places.I think I fell asleep as I woke up when I was in the back of a van of some sort with Matt. I froze I had no clue what was going on. I assumed something bad.
"What's going on?" I asked. I was starting to freak out.
"It's okay. We're all okay," He said, "We're on our way to some place the police guys said,"
"Police," I asked. My voice quiet shaky.
"Yeah. They'll look after us," He said. He looked exhausted.
"They'll send me back," I mumbled. I didn't have the courage left to deal with this. The vehicle came to a halt and we were assisted out and taken into the station. They took us to seperate rooms. I watched Matt walk away as they took me to a waiting room. I pulled my knees to my chest. Just then mom came into the room.
"Are you okay. Are you hurt," mom asked. It was like it was never my fault this all happened.
"I'm fine," I mumbled. I glanced at my hands.
"Someone is going to come and take a statement from you before we go home," mom told me.
"Okay," I murmured. Just then a man came in and asked me a few questions. Which I answered just not 100% truthfully.
