Chapter 9

Roxie pov
I woke up in the pitch black. "Please let this be a dream..." I said aloud to no one. I looked at my phone at it said 5:39. Alright. I climbed the stairs and Gabe and Lilly were sleeping. Alright, this wasn't a dream...Zane is my...ugh father. I decided to make Breakfast for 3. I grabbed the eggs, bacon, and toast. *knock knock*
"It's unlocked," I called quietly.
It was Laurence. "Good morning, Roxie. How are you?"
"Tired, shaken and horrified that Zane is my dad."
"Hm. It will be ok. Do you want to help?"
"Sure. I am not a very good cook. Even after caring for my half-siblings"
He chuckled. And he started to cook. It smelled delicious.
"Ummm. Morning Roxe. Oh, good morning. I didn't catch your name"
"Laurence. Good morning"
She blushed a little. She sat down at the table and so did Laurence. Then Gabe came down. "Morning, kids. Oh, what's your name, son?"
"My name is Laurence sir."
"Oohh! Laurence is being a gentleman!" I said laughing. Gabe and Lilly and Laurence laughed along with me. Breakfast was ready so we were all eating.
"Soooo, how did you guys meet?" Asked Lilly looking at me and Laurence. We exchanged glances. I laughed a little. "I knocked him out."
"True"
Lilly and Gabe started to laugh like crazy.
"I didn't know who he was. I was new" I was blushing. Laurence started to laugh.
"Hello? Is anyone there?"
"Come in Cadenza!" I called.
Cadenza walked in. "Hey sis."
"Hey Laurence." She looked at Gabe and Lilly. "I am the seamstress here in this village. I wanted to know if you guys wanted any clothes. Free of charge."
"That would be great!" Said Lilly.
"Thank you, hon."
"So what is your size?"
Lilly and Gabe told her their sizes and what they wanted.
"M-may I help?" Asked Lilly shyly.
"Sure! I would love the help!"
Lilly and Cadenza walked out to make some clothes. I bet they were going to be beautiful.
"So. I want to know what's going on between you two." Said Gabe once they were out of earshot. "I may not be your real dad, but i need to know."
"Oh boy" said Laurence under him breath.
"Sir. I do love your daughter. Ever since she knocked me out. It would be my pleasure to be her Boyfriend."
Wow. Laurence said the REALLY intelligently.
"Wow. That was very compelling. Ok. I will let you. I am glad she found love"
We smiled at each other.
"I have to go on patrol . See ya."
Laurence kissed me on the cheek and walked out.
Time skip
I walked to find Kiki. I need to talk too her about the pendent.
"Kiki? Anyone home?"
"Come up the ladder."
So I climbed and Kiki was feeding Leona a bottle. "Oh, hey Roxie! How is your family?"
The tears started to come. Gabe wasn't my father...
"Oh Roxanne, please don't cry. Tell me what happened."
So I explained to her everything, the pendent most of all.
"So...Leona is your half sister. And Lilly is your other half sister?"
I nodded "so you are like my half mom." I smiled.
She returned the smile.  "It was good talking to you. But I need to change Leona. Oh, I saw you are good with a bow, ask your 'uncle' Garroth about becoming a guard."
"Alright, I can try."
So I left the barn. I saw the children playing. Alexis waved at me, I waved back. Dante gave a nod when I passed him.
"Oh! Dante, where is Garroth?"
"Training I think"
"Thanks!"
I burst into a run. I was pretty fast. I reached the guard training building. "Hey uncle!" I said happily.
"Hey, I wish you would stop calling me that. Your not going to are you?"
"Nope! Look, I want to be a guard."
"A-a guard? And uncles girl." He pretended to wipe a tear. We both laughed.
"I am serious Uncle Garroth."
He groaned at me calling him 'uncle'.
"Alright, let's see what you got."
He let me pick a weapon, I choose bow and arrow. I shot every target. I WAS KATTNISS EVERDEEN! I did so good. I didn't even realize I had an audience until I was done. Aphmau, Kiki, Laurence, Lilly, Candenza, Gabe, and a few others. Them being there was giving me more courage. I forgot all about the iron arm. I am also surprised that Lilly and Habe hadn't asked. But, there was skin on it. Zoey really did have magic. I dropped the bow and went to hand-to-hand combat.
"What are you doing?"
"I want to try hand-to-hand combat."
Garroth smiled. He must be proud. He brought out a punching bag. I punched it like a boss. It was awesome, the feeling to be strong. Left and right, I was punching. Garroth moved in front of me and I punched him. "OH MY GOD! Garroth I am so sorry!"
He suddenly jumped on me with a sword at my neck. He was smiling. "Lesson 1. Never let your opponent distract you. Even if they are family." I smiled and he helped me up. "Go home, you have be working at this for hours." As I was walking out, people stared at me with awe. Laurence looked most star struck. I smiled to my self. I walked out all sexy-like. I was that proud. I haven't felt this good in a long time. I have a boyfriend, a family, and a history. This is more than I could ever hope for. I didn't even  price I was limping until Laurence asked if I needed help.
"Oh, I am fine, ouch,"
He picked me bridal style and carried me home. He set me down on my bed. I was a sleep in a good minute. The only dream I had was being with Laurence and my family.

Yep. I did stuff. This is my favorite chapter so far. So happy. I am sure 'uncle' Garroth is happy. Haha. Couldn't help it. Alright, peace😘✌🏻️
