Chapter 10

Roxie pov
I worked with Garroth for a long time, everyday. I should take very few breaks with Laurence or Lilly. Lilly became good friends with Brenden and Cadenza. Lilly's favorite outfit was a black beanie, white tank top, black leather jacket, jeans, and black boots. The black made her hair look like it was shining. Brenden seemed to like it. I wore more light colors. Like green, blue, white, and yellow. Garroth said I was improving immensely! I was going to be a good guard! I had an expert and Hand-to-hand combat, beep wand arrow, and I was improving with the sword and shield. I fought Laurence a lot. He was a good component. I just imagined him as Zane and we fought fine. The skin on my iron arm was growing. I completely forgot about it. It worked just fine. Zoey came and cast a few spells to quicken the process. I was soon going to have normal-looking fingers.
"Roxie? You haven't touched your food. Are you ok?" Asked Laurence. I was on a break, I don't realize I was lost in thought,
"Oh, yeah, yeah. I am fine, just thinking.  About....family..."
"I understand. Or are you planning a way to defeat me in training?"
We laughed, I was thinking of that to. We had a quick lunch break and we walked hand-in-hand back to training. Once we were in, I flipped him over my shoulder and pinned him.
"Haha! I should have seen that coming!"
"Alright, you had fun. Now back to serious training,"
"GO ROXE!" I heard my sister yell. Like the first day, people were gathering. I was going to beat Laurence so hard.
"Come on, baby."
"Shut up and fight."
We smiled and lunged, swords in our hands. Our swords collided with a bang. His emerald sword with my new amethyst sword. Our shields at our sides.  Our faces went really serious. And I imagined Zane and I lunged. Right past the shield, into him. He gasped and so did the rest of the crowd. I took out the sword; it was right near his stomach. I gasped and dropped the sword. Laurence fell to the ground.
"I...I" was all I could say. Before I could think, I was running. Tears coming down like a hurricane. He choose not to wear any armor because he was used to it. What have I done?! I ran strait into the forest, past a pack of wolves and right near a lake. I stopped. I looked at myself in the river. My cheeks were red; my eyes were puffy. I could have killed him.  My clothes underneat my armor. My orange hair was a little tangled. "R-Roxie?"
It was Lilly, Emmalyn, Aphmau, Katlyn, Alexis, and Kiki. The girls who were my closest friends. Aphmau looked like she had been crying.
"Y u cwing rocks?" Asked Alexis.
"He is doing fine. Donna and Zoey are healing him." Said Aphmau.
"I am not going back. What if he lives, he doesn't ...deserve me..."
Lilly walked to me and hugged me. "We can get through this together. As family."
The others walked towards me and hugged me. I continued to cry.
"R-Roxie....I am f-fine.." A voice said. It sounded like....Laurence?
"L-Laurence?" I said between sobs.
"Aph-Aphmau...show her...the...amulet..."
Aphmau pulled out a purple amulet. It was glowing. She handed it to me.
"I have two. This one can be yours" she said. I took it,
"Laurence?"
"I am here. Where a-are you?"
"N-near the river. Laurence....i am...so. Sorry." I cried even harder.
"Please don't cry. Come back. S-see me...for...real."
"What...what if I...hurt..you again?"
"Th-that won't m-matter....as long...as I am....with...with you."
I hear some of the girls go 'aww'
"Ok...i am...coming home,"
The amulet stopped glowing and I put it around my neck. It looked good.
"I am ready to come home." I said to the girls. They all hugged me, telling it was going to be ok.
Time skip
Garroth greeted me at the gate with open arms. I gladly hugged him. After all, he is my uncle.
"It's ok. Laurence is doing fine. Your uncle Garroth took care of it. I am proud to be part of your family."
We chuckled a little when he spoke in third person. I was glad he is part of my family as well,
"Me to uncle Garroth."
I walked up to Aphmau's house. Alexis was holding my hand. Lilly was holding the other.
"L-Laurence?" I called
"Down here" I heard a weak voice reply. Oh no....he was weak.
I went down stairs and into his room. "LAURENCE! I AM SO SORRY!" I shouted and ran to his bedside and cried. Donna was rapping bandages around his stomach and Zoey was making a potion.
"Please don't cry...I love you....I don't want to see your hurt.."
"Laurence...please don't leave."
I looked at Donna and all she did was frown, looking down. Is he going to die?
"I will never leave. As long as you have the amulet..." He pulled out one identical to the one I had on. They both started to glow. He took my hand. I looked at his face; it was pale. His eyes looked dull. He looked...half way dead. I looked at him again and made me cry more. Someone out a hand on my shoulder; Garroth.
"I want...you to sing....I want t-to hear your be-beautiful voice.."
"What...what song do you want?"
"Anything"
I thought for a second, thinking of a song he might like.

"I love...your voice.." Said Laurence, very weak. "And I...l-love you...more than....anything.." He said and his eyes closed.
"Laurence? LAURENCE!!! NO DONT LEAVE!!" I cried. Aphmau cried in Garroth's shoulder. I didn't notice Kawaii chan and Dante. She was crying in his shoulder. I was crying at his bedside. "Laurence....I am so sorry. I love you too..." I said. Lilly was at my side, hugging me; Gabe was at the other. I sobbed for the longest time. It felt like hours. Everyone had left. Laurence's color drained from his face. Is this the end?
