Chapter 20

Roxie pov
I woke to the sound of rain. I looked at my phone and it was 6. Laurence was still sound asleep. I got up and got dressed. (...yeah) a blue blouse and jeans. I brushed my hair and put it in a pony tail. I walked down the hall and pecked in on Ren. He-he wasn't there. Oh yeah. He was at Aphmau's. I hope he slept well. I went downstairs to make breakfast. I was thinking of pancakes. I wanted chocolate chip, banana pancakes. What is with my cravings lately? I got the bananas and chocolate chips and put It in the bowl with the mix.
Thump thump
Laurence was up "morning babe! How does pancakes sound?" I called. He didn't answer. I called it again. Still not response. I turned and he was there. But his eyes....his eyes. They are red. Not trace of my husband. I walked up to him to examen him. "Laurence?!"
He responded by walking out of the house. I grabbed a coat and I ran after him. Then I realized everyone looked like that. Dante, Kawaii chan, Garroth, Lilly, Gabe, Aphmau....REN! I need to find him! I ran through the crowd of my friends and family. Even the little ones have pure red eyes. Alexis looked horrible. "MOMMA?!?!?" I heard my son call.
"REN!" I called back. Then the little fox I love so much. I scooped him up and he turned back into a little boy. "Wh-what g-going on?" He said. He is shivering from the cold. I wrapped him in my coat. "I-I don't know, son."
"Where Pa?"
"He-he is under the spell, or what ever it is,"
I held Ren close and followed everyone else. They were heading to the plaza. Zane. He is there. With men in red suits. Shadow Knights. Wait, Laurence is half of one! "Ren," I whispered, "pretend to be one of them"
"Why?"
"Don't question it."
We started to walk like zombies. The booming voice of Zane startled me "WELCOME!"
And suddenly everyone was normal. "What happened?" Was common in the crowd. People got their weapons ready. Nicole dug a hole with her iron fist and people who couldn't fight went in. Kiki saw me and I have her a nod for reassurance. She saw Ren. "Go with her."
"No mom!"
"Do as your told!"
He ran off. Now the people fighting are Aphmau, Garroth, Katlyn, Nicole, me, Lilly, Gabe, Laurence, Dale, Correy, and Brian. Lilly and Gabe had guns. The little pistol. I summoned my aquamarine sword and a bow and a quiver of arrows. Then I heard stomping behind me. A werewolf creature. But the colors of s fox. It was huge! The sharp teeth. But it had my sons eyes. "Ren?!"
He looked at me and nodded. I gave him a glare. He growled at Zane.
"Awww, it's a little puppy!" Zane said, taunting my son. He growled more and snapped.
"Welcome my friends! And my own daughter didn't invite me to her wedding! How sad. But I am here for someone else..." He turned him pale eyes to Aphmau. Lilly had tears streaming down her cheeks.
"Take me instead." Said my father.
"Oh, but I need Aphmau. I thought we established that.."
"No. We didn't."
"I granted your wish to go home."
Home. The old Dimension. "No." Said Lilly. "I love it here. My sister is here. My brother-in-law is here. My best of friends are here. I love someone who lives here."
Zane chuckled. He sent something from his hand to Aphmau. Gabe jumped right in front of it "DAD!" Lilly and I cried. He was bleeding.  Everyone charged. I shot arrows to the shadow Knights. Laurence turned into on to be stronger. He...he...was scary. He killed the fellow shadow knights.  Zane was on his own.
"FINE!" He spat "YOU WIN THIS BATTLE! BUT MEET ME IN THE MEADOW RIGHT OUTSIDE METLI IN FIVE DAYS! WE WILL SETTLE THIS!" With that, he disappeared. Lilly and I ran to put dad. The wound was near his heart. We cried over him. "Y-you girls....are...special....." He swallowed, " I love...you...both...be..c-carful. The future...is near..." He said. He was gone. I screamed and Lilly sat there, with tears down her checks. "DAD! DONT YOU DARE LEAVE!!! " I screamed. I got up and ran to the forest. I started to punch a tree. The splinters that were in my hand didn't hurt. I punched it until I didn't have any strength.  I fell to the ground and sat there and cry. Laurence walked up, still a shadow knight. "Stand." He said in a voice that didn't belong to him. I stood and stared into his red eyes. I kissed him. He was shocked then turn normal. "I am so sorry you had to see that side of me." He said.
I cried on his shoulder. Lilly's head was on Brenden's. Guards took my fathers lifeless body out of the plaza. What am I going to do. Then nausea hit me like a brick. I let go of Laurence and got sick. I think it was from crying. Zane will pay. He did this. Zoey stood in front of me and held handful of powder and blew it in my face. Knock-our powder. The same Garroth used on me so many months ago. My world spun the went dark.
