Chapter 25 Girl or Boy

Roxie pov
I woke up to the smell of a clinic. I started to get my head up off a pillow, when Lilly pushed me back down, "no Roxie. You have to rest!"
"L-Lilly? What happened?" I looked into her eyes and they were full of tears. "Ren....he is two years old now. He can walk and talk, but he isn't who he used to be."
"T-two years old? Wha....how?"
"The potion that Ingo threw at Ren was a youth potion. The effects can't be reversed."
I gasped escaped my mouth. I feel like I am going to get sick. When I put my hand over my stomach, I notice how big it is. I feel it move. Oh my god. My baby, she or he is alive. Almost here into this world. "I told Laurence." Said Lilly holding my other hand. My right hand is still on my stomach. I stared at it in awe, and in pain. Zoey came in with all the boys. And my son. I looked at him with wonder. His orange hair ablaze, his blue eyes are like the sky I could get lost in them. "Mommy!" He said, he rushed to my side. "H-h-hey baby. How do you feel?"
"I feel fine. But you have a big bump on your tummy."
I bit the bottom of my lip. "Your brother or sister is in there." I probably sound stupid to a two year old. His face lit up with energy, "Really?!" He smiles from ear to ear. I smile weakly and nod. I take my hand out of Lilly's hand and brush a piece of hair out of his face. A woman with grey hair and a white lab coat came in. She had a clipboard in her hands "Are you Miss Roxanne?"
"Yes ma'am." I say.
"Your due for your ultrasound."
I nod and they push me in a wheel chair down the hall to a new room. I lay on the bed and they put some gel-like stuff on my stomach. It was very cold. Then the put some little machine on the gel. A screen flashed to life and I turn my head. I see a beautiful baby on the screen. I focus a little and I see. I see the gender of the baby. "It's a girl." I say aloud. The doctor smiles and nods. "Congratulations."

Zoey pov
We waited for Roxie to get back from the ultrasound. If feels like it's been forever. Malachi was a little disappointed that Ren is Levin's age but he was there to help. Lilly had fallen asleep in the chair next to me. She snored softly, Ren in her lap drifting off to sleep too. I could feel my eyelids getting heavy as well. Suddenly the door busted open and Roxie's face was full of life. She smiled like there was no tomorrow. She was helped onto her bed. Her emerald eyes sparkled. The doctor walked out of the room. "Well?" Asked Lilly. I stood up as well. "It's a girl!" She said. Lilly smiled and gasp. "Im going to have a sister?" Asked Ren. "Yes my boy. Yes." She said and hugged Ren the best she could. He hugged her back. Suddenly her eyes flashed open. "Hey Lilly....do you still have the amulet?"
Lilly nodded and pulled it from her back pocket. Roxanne took it like her baby was inside. "When's daddy coming home?" Asked Ren. Roxanne looked surprised and hen looked at Lilly. Lilly shrugged, "I had to tell him something."
I decided to take action. Roxanne wanted to talk to Laurence. I took Levin and Malachi's hand, "come on boys. It's dinner time."
Lilly nodded, she took Ren's hand, "Come on Ren. Let's go."
And soon we left Roxanne alone with the amulet.

Roxie pov
I turned on the amulet and smiled, waiting for Laurence's voice. The amulet glowed it's purple aura. "Hello?" Called a familiar voice.
I wanted to brighten the mood, "Hey there Casanova."
"Roxie?! Oh my Irene, I thought you were in a coma!"
I smiled wider, "Nope. But I don't know how long I was out for."
"We'll find that out please."
"I will," I started to tear up a little, "look. So Lilly told you what happened. And the new baby is...."
There was silence on the other end, "I'm listening."
"It's a girl."
I heard him gasp, "Really?!"
"Yeah babe. It is A little girl."
A war horn cried out in the distance, "I ...I gotta go. I love you Roxie."
"I love you more Casanova."
"Thats impossible."
I smile and hang up. The purple fades away.

Laurence pov
I run my fingers through my hair as I run back to camp. A girl. Mother of Irene, why did this have to happen? The war? I need to get back home. I could run....no. I promised Aphmau that I would fight. I made it back to camp before the gates closed. I saw Garroth and Aphmau talking, Brendan looking at a picture of him and Lilly and a few others asleep or on guard. "Hey Laurence, what's with the smile?" Asked Aphmau when she saw me. I smile and looked down, "It's a girl."
"A girl?!" Asked Garroth. He bro hugged me. Aphmau hugged me as well. "I can't wait to get back home." I said.
Aphmau's expression turned sad but she smiled anyway, "we will get home Laurence. I promise."
