We pulled up to Dimitri's house and everyone got quiet. Everyone except Sebastian and Dimitri of course. We were shocked to say the least. I hadn't realized when Sebastian said 'estate' that it meant his house would be this big. So much for sleeping arrangements...we could all have our own rooms and still have extras left over. How could a person live in a house this big all alone? And not only was it huge, it was creepy just the same. It reminded me of the big mansions you see in the scary movies that always turn out to be haunted.
It had taken us over two hours to get here. The further away from the school we got, the less I worried about Daisy finding me. On the ride here I kept looking behind us to make sure we weren't being followed. Luckily we weren't! Maybe Sebastian was right...maybe we would be safe out here.
Dimitri led us thru the house showing us from room to room, explaining that there was plenty of space for all of us to be comfortable in our own rooms. I've been living with Pookie as my roommate for nearly three months now, it was gonna be weird having a room all to myself.
We all picked out our rooms and agreed to meet down stairs in the kitchen in thirty minutes. My room was huge compared to the dorm Pookie and I shared at school. It was decorated mostly in burgundy and gold colors. The paintings on the walls were of gorgeous landscapes. I would have to remember later to ask Dimitri who the artist was. My bed was so big and soft that I just wanted to crawl into it and sleep for days. The burgundy carpet was so soft that I took off my shoes while I put away my things. I could get use to this style of living.
Pookie picked the room next to mine. She said she wanted to be close. Guess she wasn't so sure about living in a room by herself either. I was glad she chose the room though..I liked having Pookie close, it made me comfortable.
Pookie's room fit her personality perfectly. It was pink and lime green of all colors. It looked as if it was set up for a child. And with the way Pookie was always bouncing on her heels and laughing, I knew she would choose this room as her own.
After putting all my things away I met Pookie in her room and we went down stairs together. Everyone else was already sitting at the kitchen table. It was one of those really long tables with like fourteen chairs. How come everything in this house was so big? Another question to be asked later.
On the table was a plate piled full of different kinds of finger sandwiches, a huge bowl of chips along side a bowl of fruit, there was also a tub of ice that held everything from bottled water to Dr. Pepper. I hadn't realized how hungry I was until now.
We all took our seats and Dimitri remained standing at the head of the table. "I'm very glad all of you have joined me here...you are all welcome to stay as long as you want," Dimitri says before taking his seat. "I thought you all might want a snack after such a long trip to get here. We will have dinner later on this evening."
We all thanked Dimitri and told him how much we loved the house. I asked him how he lived all the way out here and in such a big house all alone. He answered simply, "It's not so bad and besides now I have all of you guys to keep me company." I started to ask why Sebastian lived at the school instead of here but I changed my mind. If Sebastian wants me to know he will tell me himself.
We all talked for what seemed like hours. It still amazes me how much this group of friends feels like family. It's truly a great feeling! We had all been talking a while when Sebastian reached over and took my hand. He smiled at me and continued to talk.
Heat went thru my body once again, my finger tips tingled making me giggle. Sebastian just squeezed my hand alittle and kissed my forehead. I wonder if he feels to same things I do went we touch. It can't just be me right?
