And then there was Lonna

Though it felt like it had been a lifetime ago, it had only been a month since we left school.  Sebastian and I were closer then ever.  We spent our days with our friends and our nights wrapped in each others arms talking and laughing.  I never imagined my life could feel so normal.  I'd always felt out of place and alone.  But now I had a real family, I felt at home, at peace.  I still haven't told Sebastian that I love him and no we haven't done 'that.'  But I think that's okay.  Things will happen when they're suppose to, no need to rush.

Eithan and Pookie have been spending more time together.  She finally realized that he's crazy about her.  Everyone else has always known.  It was SO obvious!  I had been telling her for month's now but she would just tell me I was being silly and change the subject.  Till one day last week, we were all sitting around a fire Dimitri had built and Pookie turned to Eithan and said..."So, Susie seems to think that your in love with me or something."  I'm not sure if I had finally gotten to her or if the two glasses of wine she drank had givin her the nerve to ask.  Either way I was glad she finally did.  Eithan on the other hand looked shocked to say the least.  But only for a second.  Cause next thing I knew he pulled Pookie onto his lap and kissed her.  It was sweet really and about damn time if I do say so myself.  And that was all it took....now they're inseparable.

The rest of the group is the same as always.  I keep wondering when Dimitri will start being alittle more normal and alittle less mysterious but who knows.  I guess that's just Dimitri for you.

At lunch he announced to us that we would be having a visitor later in the evening.  He said that he'd been wanting us to meet her every since he knew we were coming but thought it best to let us get settled in first.  Of course the first question I asked was if this girl was his girlfriend.  Dimitri laughed at the thought.   "No," he says, "I loved a woman once but she vanished without a trace and I haven't wanted to be with anyone since."  For a moment his face was saddened.  Was this love he spoke of my mother?  I was just about to ask when there was a knock at the door.

"Your early," Dimitri says as he opens the door revealing a pretty girl he called Lonna.  They hugged then he turned and started to introduce everyone.  "Let me," she says.  Lonna puts one hand palm up and closes her eyes then smiles.  When she opened her eyes she looks right at me..."Hello Susie, I've been wanting to meet you.  This is an interesting group of friends you've got here."  "Um, how did you know my name", I say, clearly confused.  "Well you see, I'm a psychic.  Not the sit at the table with a crystal ball type like you may think.  No ma'am...you see I can see things from your past and future by simply touching your hand.  Simple things, like what a persons name is or what gifts they may have, I can pick up by just being close to them....no need for contact."

I must say...I liked her already.  She was alittle creapy looking but for some reason I was drawn to her.  She intrigued me.

Lonna was a great story teller.  We sat for hours listening as she told us of people she had met throughout her life.

Darla had complained of a headache shortly after Lonna's arrival and went to her room to lay down, said she'd come down when she felt better.  She was acting strange but maybe it was just the headache.

I asked Lonna if she would tell me my future.  "Of course my dear, but I may only be able to see your past.  I never know which it will be," she says then reaches for my hands and closes her eyes.

Instantly my hands were warm and tingling.  "Interesting clothes you chose to wear to a school full of girls in dresses.  Not much of a girlie girl I take it," she says with a smile.  "Out of all things in my head,  that is all you see?" I said, alittle disappointed.  "Of course not, I just wanted to see your reaction," she says with a giggle.

She closes her eyes again and smiles.  "Hmmm, you look so much like your mother.  Too bad you haven't gotten to know her better, she's quite gifted.  Have you told Dimitri about her at all?"  Dimitri looks at us with a confused look on his face.  "I'll explain later," Lonna tells him then she turns back to me.  "We need to get started on your gifts first thing in the morning.  You need to be prepared for Daisy.  From what I can tell you have only scratched the surface of what you can do."

"Now that's more like it!", Eithan shouts, obviously excited.  I had totally forgotten that everyone was watching us.

"I think we should all get some rest tonight.  Tomorrow we will begin working to bring your gifts to light.  Plus I think you need some training in self defense.  I believe Eithen here can help with that,"  she gives Eithan a wink.  "No worries Pookie, I have a job for you too," Loona stands up and stretches, "Show me to my room Dimitri."

I didn't know whether to be excited or scared.  The one thing I did know was...tomorrow things will be different...I will be different!
