When I opened my eyes I was laying in my bed. There's no way that was all a dream. Sebastian leans over and kisses my forehead. "Welcome back love, you took a nasty fall. How do you feel?" He smiles at me but I could see the worry in his eyes.
"What happened, why did I faint?", I say while rubbing my head. "Lonna said you did too much too fast and it took alot out of you. Your body couldn't handle it. She says she's gonna have to teach you to control how much power you use. If you use too much then you will faint every time." I could tell that Sebastian was more worried then he let on so I didn't press the issue.
"I'd like to see Pookie, could you ask her to come upstairs?" I felt weak, I hated feeling this way. "Of course love, she's been worried about you," Sebastain says then stands up but not before kissing me gently on the lips. There was a knock on the door and Pookie poked her head in the room. "So you ARE awake?! I knew it, I'm getting better at this soul mate thing," Pookie says as she shoo's Sebastian out of the room.
"Have you been able to pick up any of my thoughts or emotions?," Pookie asks then flops down on the bed next to me. "No! Did Lonna say I should be able to?" I was really irritated all the sudden and didn't know why. I felt really overwhelmed by all this. If this is how I will feel every time I get another gift then I don't want it.
"So you really didn't see the blue light when you threw it knocking Eithan on his butt?," Pookie asks. I had the feeling she already knew the answer though. "No, I just felt a tingling in my hands and went with it. I don't know how I did it but it was pretty awesome." I must say, it felt good for it to be him on his ass for a change.
I decided it was time for some real answers so me and Pookie went down stairs to find Lonna. I figured if anyone would be able to explain things to me, it would be her. We found her sitting outside on the steps talking to Dimitri. Seems she thought it was time to tell him who 'exactly' my mother is. He handled the news better then I thought he would, or he was really good at hiding his emotions.
Dimitri excused himself and went inside. Me and Pookie sat on either side of Lonna. Of course she already knew what we were wanting to know so she didn't waste any time with small talk.
Lonna scoots up a couple of steps so that she can look at both Pookie and me. "I knew that pushing you would bring your gifts to light sooner but I never imagined you would be this powerful. We've definitely got some work to do to help you to control how much energy you put into it. You can really hurt yourself otherwise," she put her hands together and looked me straight in the eyes. "The fact that you couldn't see the light you threw at Eithan tells me that your not ready to except your gifts. This is not a good thing Susie. You need to come to terms with the fact that you are going to be one of the great ones. With this comes great responsibility. The fact that you could hit Eithan from such a distance is a good thing. It will protect you when Daisy tries to attack you."
This was alot to take in all at once. Sebastian came out to tell us that dinner was being served. I could definitely eat, I was starving.
I don't think I'll ever get tired of everyone sitting at this huge table together at every meal. I've never felt more at home anywhere before. I honestly couldn't wait until my mom could join us. I had the feeling that Dimitri may feel the same way. I've never seen him so quite before. He's usually the center of every conversation. I wasn't sure if it was a good idea to bring up my mother so I decided to ask Sebastian to speak with Dimitri when they were alone. Maybe we would be able to come up with a way to break her free from the institute she was being held in.
After dinner we all helped clean up. Sebastian did as I asked and took his brother for a walk to discuss my mother. Pookie and Eithan went to the living room with Lonna to plan our next training exercise. I was just about to ask Darla if she wanted to join me upstairs to hang out in my room when I noticed she had already left. Maybe she had the same idea and already went upstairs. After all I don't think we've spent any time hanging out one on one since we've been here.
I looked in my room and she wasn't in there so I went to her room, it was only at the other end of the hall. She wasn't in there either so I figured I would look outside. Maybe she was out on the hamick Dimitri had put up a few days ago. I was just outside the door when I heard Darla talking. Who was she talking to? I rounded the corner to find her standing behind a tree talking on a cell phone. Why was she hiding? How come I never knew she had a phone and who could she be talking to? She didn't have any family and as far as I know, we're to only friends she has.
"Where did you get a phone Darla, and who are you talking to?," I ask. Darla spins on her hills with a shocked look on her face. I nearly screamed when I seen her eyes. They were the same as Daisy's, solid black. She hangs up the phone and drops into a fighting stance.....
