Incubus' POV
"Wait...what?" I asked, staring at my fingers. They weren't tipped a pale blue like I had thought they would. I stared up at the sky, seeing the dark clouds I had summoned still floating high up in the sky, silently and threateningly flashing blue light within them. So...why wasn't the lightening striking this woman down? Instead, I had...summoned a demon.
Looking back down, I stared at my fingers like they would actually give me the answer to this question. They did, in a way.
What I hadn't noticed before, in the dimness, was the faint, lacy swirls of black smoke emanating from the tips. My fingernails had turned a weird shade of black, and the smoke that lingered around my fingers began receding just as the black colour of my nails did.
I looked up at the waiting woman, or demon. She blinked her eyes at me, expectant. No...this wasn't a demon I summoned, this was something else entirely. Honestly, what was going on? I didn't like the feeling of being confused, but I really liked the feeling of being so...powerful. Of having so many powers. I wonder why I deserved it.
"Who...are you?" I asked 'Lisa'.
"I am..." She started, but then trailed off, unsure. "I..."
"Your name. Tell me what your name is." I instructed sternly. I clenched my hands into fists and thrust them deep within the pockets of my bow battered and ripped jacket. I gritted my teeth with impatience as I waited and watched her think...and think...and think.
"I don't know. I think...that I'm..." She trailed off once again, looking into the distance with a finger to her chin. It was like she was trying to mock me.
"You think you're what?" I snapped, bringing her attention back to me.
"You." She said, mystified. I felt the same way. "I can feel your confusion and frustration...at me."
"Wha -" I stopped myself. I was feeling what she said. "Fine. What am I...thinking?"
"I can't tell that. That's, like...impossible." She was even starting to sound like me now. "Here, let's see if this -" She walked up to me and grabbed my shoulder, catching me off guard. Before I could anything, she thrust her knee into my - "works."
"Ohh..." I groaned and clutched at my tenders.
"Yup. I can feel your anger and pain." She replied curtly.
"Oh...kay." I gasped out as I slowly stood back to my full height. I recovered quickly, but for some reason felt the pain humans felt. How stupid was that? To make me immortal, powerful and supernatural, yet give me pathetic human qualities?
"So...you accept that I am you?" She asked.
"But...how?" I wondered to myself. "Shouldn't I feel...I don't know, half dead, or something? Considering I gave a part of my soul to you?"
"Well, technically, you aren't alive to begin with." She started. She felt like an older sister lecturing a younger sibling. It was annoying. I guess I gave her that part of myself.
"Yeah, but -"
"It doesn't really matter - the aspect of it, I suppose." She cut me off.
"Listen up, you -" I pointed a threatening finger in her face.
"You mean me." She smiled a smug smile.
"That's it. Let's see what happens to my soul - the annoying part of it I gave to you - when it has no vessel to occupy, but my own."
"Wait -"
"Too late." I grinned cunningly, cutting her off. With a quick swift of my hand, I grabbed her throat and picked her up, lifting her off the ground. I watched her struggle and claw at my hand, leaving no affect on me. Then, in the blink of an eye, I pulled her down -head first - onto the pavement.
Her skull immediately gave out from the force, and I heard the sickening crack, and then squelch, as her brain began to slither out of the gaping hole at the back of her head. I let go of her limo neck and stepped back, disgust clear on my face. I stared down at her face, still frozen in the half scream, her eyes wide and dead, her blood and brain matter littering the ground.
"Well...I guess it doesn't -"
"Seriously?" A voice - one that sounded very exasperated and annoyed - came from within the darkness of the trees. I stared ahead, readying myself to bury this bïtch in the ground as well. "I'm always cleaning up messes?!"
"Who the hell are you?" I called out, my voice loud and bossy.
"Who do you think?" She asked, her voice creeping lower as she stepped through the trees. She had her head bent, looking down at her feet when she came into my sight.
At first, I was puzzled and extremely annoyed. Then, I was extremely startled and upset.
