I pulled up behind a row of trees by the house and shut the bike off followed by Lincoln. We all climbed off and pulled out our guns. We slowly walked in the door of the house trying to make any noise.
The house was dark and empty. We started up the first flight of stairs and started looking in rooms. There was nothing here so we started up the second flight of stairs. I feel like my heart is going to beat out of my chest. I know they're here, I can feel it. The distant pain my chest was growing stronger, I'm closer to him.
We got up the second flight of stairs and started looking in rooms again. I froze when I heard footsteps. They're above me. I looked up at the ceiling and dust was falling from where the footsteps were.
"They're exactly above this room." I whispered.
I turned around and ran out the door. I stopped at the bottom of the stairs and took a deep breath. I have to take this slowly so they won't hear me coming. I started slowly up the stairs and my blood froze when I heard a cry of pain. Mason!
I started walking quicker up the stairs trying not to panic. I got to the top of the stairs and went to the room that I heard the footsteps in. Eli and Lincoln were right behind me. I pressed my ear to the door.
"So tell me what is it about your b*tch sister that everyone thinks is so special?" I heard David's voice.
"Fuck you! If you lay a finger on her it will be the last thing you ever do." Mason yelled.
I heard a banging noise and a cry of pain from Mason. A flash of pain shot through my chest and I grabbed it trying to catch my breath. I started to see red. I kicked the door open with my gun in front of me. David was standing by Mason who was tied to a chair looking beat up.
Oh Mason. David had a knife in one hand and a gun in the other. Pointed right at my brother.
"Drop it or I will blow you brains out." I said shakily through my gritted teeth.
I could feel hot tears falling down my cheeks. Mason is hurt and it's my fault. This is about me, not him. David started to laugh which only made me angrier.
"Looks like you're in a sticky situation, princess. I'd drop yours and call your dog's off if I were you." He said smiling menacingly.
His smile made my insides twist.
"Don't call me that." I said coldly.
My whole body was starting to shake now. I looked over at Mason who was wide eyed.
"I said drop it, b*tch!" he yelled making me flinch.
I slowly put my gun to the ground hoping he didn't notice the extra under the back of my shirt. I looked at Eli and Lincoln and nodded. The nodded and put their guns down to.
"Now let him go." I said straightening up.
He walked over to me and grabbed me pulling me back with him. Lincoln stiffened and I could see the rage burning in his eyes. David pulled on the back of my hair making me flinch.
"I'm tired of the game we've been playing. I want it taken care of." He growled.
I knew it, I knew they were playing a game. I've been putting all the pieces together.
"Then do it you coward." I spit out.
I slowly reached a shaking hand behind me trying to keep his attention on my eyes. My fingers gripped the handle of my gun. I have to be quick. I looked over at Mason. His face was swollen and beat up with cuts and blood all over. My rage was a hot as a wildfire. I looked back at David who was looking me in the eye and smiling and as quick as I could I pulled my gun out with one hand and knocked the gun out of his hand with my other.
