I woke up alone in bed, like usual. But there was no note so I'm sure Lincoln is still home. Plus we start back at school today. It's been a week since we found Lincoln, he swears he's feeling okay and that we should go back to our normal life. The police have come and gone, it was surprisingly easy to convince them. Maybe they really are on the enemy's pay roll. Who knows, we can't trust anybody. Not even them.
I sighed and got out of bed and headed to the bathroom. I turned the water on in the shower and climbed in letting the warm water run down my back. It's been a quiet week since we found Lincoln, it's been a normal week. No guns, fights, or violence. It's almost like the enemy's disappeared , but I can't trust that. No way. I'm more then positive this isn't over. There's honestly nothing we can do except wait though.
I climbed out the shower and started drying off. I decided on wearing my black skinny jeans with my combat boots and a red tank. Something simple. Something very Blaise. I got dressed and took off downstairs. My breath hitched when I spotted Lincoln smiling and laughing with Eli. There he is, sitting there in our living room right where he should be. I can't help but be overwhelmed with joy, it's been a week but every time I see him it's like seeing him for the first time after we got him back.
He turned around and looked at me with that jaw dropping smile of his. I blushed and smiled back. How does he still manage to make me blush? He got up and walked over to me wrapping his arms around me before he planted a kiss on my forehead that made me hold my breath. I'll never get tired of this.
"You look beautiful, Angel." he said looking down at me.
"You don't look so bad yourself." I winked at him making him chuckle.
I walked over to Eli and shuffled his hair on top of his head before grabbing a piece of toast off his plate. He pouted and muffled something I couldn't quite make out with his mouth full of food. I finished off my toast and took a big gulp out of Eli's coffee making him pout more.
"You're a brat." he smirked.
"Hey, you know the drill. You should've had some for me." I said putting my hands up.
"Touche." he said pointing at me.
"Everyone ready?" I said grabbing my jacket.
I walked out the door and headed over to Lincoln's bike. I'd rather ride with him then drive my own. I don't want a chance of being separated from him. I will always be here with him, nobody will take him away from me again. That might be hard when he starts doing business again. But we will cross that bridge when we come to it.
"Helmet, princess." Lincoln said handing me my helmet.
"Yes sir." I giggled and slipped my helmet on.
Lincoln started up the bike and took off with Toby and Eli behind us. I held on tight and took in the warmth of Lincoln's body. Nothing can describe how I feel with his body next to mine, or how I feel being in his arms or being able to hold him after I thought he'd been ripped away from me. After I thought I'd never see him again. I gripped Lincoln's jacket and shook the thoughts off. I won't drag myself down. But I also will not let my guard down, nobody will ever hurt any of my family again. There's a small fraction of the beast that has permanently been unleashed and embraced.
I snapped out of my thoughts when we slowed down and pulled into the school. Lincoln pulled into our usual parking spot right next to my impala where Mason and everyone else was leaning against. My insides felt warm and happy. Everyone is laughing and smiling and together. Thank goodness. I smiled and got off the bike and hung my helmet on the handle. Lincoln climbed off after me and caught my waist and pulled me to him kissing me. My lips heated up under his. He pulled away and smiled down at me.
