Chapter 24

Choniko POV

I can't believe Shikamaru would say those things about Akaruikage, try to kill her and then forfeit. Akaruikage told me that he needed to graduate from this exam to be Chunin as quick as possible, Achime said he did it on purpose but I don't know.

I could hear Ino from all the way on my left yelling at her team mate telling him to take it back, I couldn't keep my eyes off of Akarui's painful face in Shika's arms and the Inuzuka didn't waste any time running to the medical hall. I looked at Achi that was standing on my right seeing him in staring off into space, and the proctor said that Akaruikage was the winner of the round by forfeit.

Akaruikage POV

My body, I can't move it it feels so heavy and painful; what happened?

I thought I was in the fight with my onii-chan a second ago, I can hear constant beeping by my left ear so I know my hearing's good but everything feels numb to me too much of a pain to think about anything right now. Loud snoring was in my hearing range and faint mumbles were there as well.

'Where the hell am I?'

"We don't know if we can cure her quick enough, I'm sorry her injuries are very dangerous to even stabilize Sir..."

'Who are they talking about? It can't be me, I'm still living .... I think. I gotta get up some how, but how if I'm all out of chakra and whatever is on my thigh is heavy and wet'

Wait, I can feel that and pain in my chest; probably just boob problems again.

"Your lying, she's still breathing"

"How do you know?"

"I know Akaruikage, she's not that weak to just give up.She's gonna make it"

That voice, it might sound like mumbles right now but I know that's nobody but Kiba talking.

Kiba POV

I held a stern look at the medical doctor knowing that my Akaruikage was gonna make it, what does he know?

My right hand felt a strong enough squeeze for me to look back at my friend hearing her soft breathing coming back to her normal pace.  Akamaru; who was on her chest, picked his head up from his laying position knowing he heard it was well. He let out a small bark and nuzzled his face in the crook of her neck.

Her usual melodically voice came in raspy notes from lack of fluids. "A-Aka..maru....it's ok boy I-I'm f-fine"

"Oh Akaruikage we was so worried about you" Akamaru barked worriedly.

I gave her some water that was on her side table and heard her whisper a thanks as she chugged it down with no mercy what so ever.  After she was done, Mitsu wiped her mouth with her wrist and set the now empty cup back down. She patted Akamaru's head with one hand while her other hand was still connected with mine. I saw the look in her dark eyes holding confusion and decided to tell her about her and her brother's match and that she won with Shikamaru forfeiting it all. Akaruikage looked more upset than anything knowing she was trying to keep her emotions in.

My heart broke at the sight of this and scooted in the hospital bed with her letting my arms wrap around her small body, wetness from her tears stained my jacket but I didn't acknowledge it at all. Akamaru sat on her lap as she scratched behind his ear with tears falling on the side of her face to her tattered up clothes. I didn't enjoy seeing Mitsukage like this, I used my index finger and thumb to lift up her chin seeing her sparkly onyx eyes covered with gloss over them from crying.

"Kiba, what are yo-" I cut her off.

"I can't stand to see you like this. All those things that Shikamaru said were stupid lies and. I said that I would protect you, but sadly I didn't. I'm sorry this is all my fault, I should've shouted out to you he's wrong. I-I just.."

I looked down at her smiling at me with something in her eyes that I just can't find the meaning to at the top of my tongue. I can't concentrate with those gorgeous eyes looking into mine and that perfect smile that makes something in me wants to just. I can't explain all the feelings, it sounds so girly.

"Kiba-kun?"

I snapped out of my daydreaming hearing her angelic voice.

*cough-cough*

Akaruikage and I pulled back quickly froze having shock spelled all over our faces. I pulled my head up to see my team, Akarui's team, Naruto, Shikamaru, Choji and Ino looking at us with multiple expression of; shock, grins, and some with looks that can kill you in a second,; wanna guess who that was?

Shikamaru formed a hand sign letting his shadow take over his young sister's "H-hey guys! Look I'm all better! Shik- hey, stop that! I'm not a puppet. Stop Shikamaru"

"I don't wanna hear you troublesome girl and you. Stay away from my sister" Shikamaru pointed out to me.

Shikamaru's was from bored to a murderous glare sending surprising shivers down my spine uncomfortably and lead him and Akaruikage both out the door into the arena room that all the fights were happening at.

"Kiba a-are you o-ok?" Hinata asked softly

"Of course, why wouldn't I be" I laughed out a little on edge now.

"We-ell because your shaking" she said

"Most likely from Shikamaru's threat" Shino budded in annoyingly.

"N-no!"

Akaruikage POV

"Why would you embarrass me like that!?!?" I asked or basically yelled still in his shadow jutsu.

He let go of the jutsu and said "Because I need to tell you something"

"What" A bit angered from the words he said earlier.

"Gomen" he said scratching his neck and looked away

I sighed "What a pain..."

He looked shocked at my reply which didn't phase me. He shouldn't have ever said it in the first place, my heart hurts from him and I hate it, it burns and I want the pain to extinguish. I know what Shika said was true so don't apologize, it's too late.

"Look I know you don't accept my apology right now but- "

"But nothing Shikamaru... I already knew what you said was nothing but the truth. I just didn't think you would stoop so low into letting that out during a fight. You are the only person that truly knows how I feel and to just finally hear that coming from you; I just.... I just don't wanna deal with you right now". With that statement lingering in the awkward atmosphere, I left to go back to where the next fight will take place.

The last match ended and soon the large screen lit up again with scrambled up names till it finally slowed to a stop. The proctor coughed some more for a whole minute, but settled his composure down calling out the two names.

"Hinata Hyuga vs

Neji Hyuga
