You wanna know why kids hate school? Why even the good ones that do happen to have a liking for it get turned off, too?
For one:
We study for tests, not to learn. We study so we can get this number, because it's all about this number, so that we can get a job and get better bigger badder numbers because no matter twenty four dollars and fifty cents or three pounds and seventeen pence, it's all the same.
For two:
We are told to develop and exercise good morals and values, but in this society where people care solely for selfish gain by capitalizing on the available and satisfying their vanity through the invisible, being ethical is hard. Honesty has no value because honesty never got anyone good grades; and hard work is impractical and bravery is just stupidity and intelligence is just a piece of bread on a scale, while the merchants frantically waste away in a balancing act.
