Chapter 6:

Chapter 6: Lucas

I watched at the window as the stars twinkled at night.

It was teasing me, because they got to see her, everyday, every night as she starts on her journey, and me, here unhappy and abandoned, without her.

"Why are you unhappy?" a female voice appeared inside.

"I feel like I've just destroyed myself with lust." I said. “I just, I don’t know how, I just need to see her.” I said as I sat on my bed and tried to fix myself for my visitor.

"Oh, that isn’t good is it? What happened? How did this happen to you?"

"Who are you?" I asked.

"I'm Kathleen."

"Oh!" I turned around and saw a little girl with a halo on her head as she walked towards me trying to touch me, but she kept it immediately as we were inches apart.

"Yes?"

"You’re new right?" I asked her as she was smiling brightly at me.

"Yes."

"Why are you here?"

"I couldn't sleep the stars are bright."

"Why? How could you not? They're beautiful you know? They are the guide to everything, they make you realize lots of things, they’re a guide to somewhere."

"You believe so?"

"Yes, so what led you here, little Kathleen?"

"I saw something glistening around here; I thought I would check it out."

"Really, can you show me where it is?" then her index finger pointed towards me. "Me?"

"Yes you."

"Why me?"

“You’re the only one who knows the reason, Lucas.” She said immediately as if she was a grown up.

"She was my best friend.” I stopped, I couldn’t handle this.

“Don’t push yourself.”

“No, I have to try."

“So?”

“She sacrificed herself for mines and her human, it wasn’t her plan, it was always mines. She just, she always wanted us to be together, but you could only go down once every full moon[T1] .”

"You’re human?"

"Yes I would have risked it all but she spoke to the council. She cut me off, it wasn’t supposed to be her, it was supposed to be me." Tears started filling my eyes.

"But that's impossible. How stupid could you two have been, for a human? Why? There nonetheless the most unimportant things in the world right now, and yet you still care for them."

"It’s not at all child, it is not impossible, and human’s are way more important than you know about them. They are needed by the Almighty, so we are to help them."

"But why would the council do that? Why would they want you to risk it for them? You aren’t people who execute themselves are you, cause if you are, you’d eventually go to the underworld."

"Because that’s what she chose, it is always your choice to choose child."

"But why?"

"It is your choice if you would want to sacrifice yourself child the council cannot stop your decision."

"But why won't they stop us from ourselves, from our likings, our decisions."

"Because they know angels are made to do the right things. They know we will do the right things."

"Then why are you here if you love her? Why don't you go down? Why don’t you save her from herself."

"The power is too weak I have to leave when it's a full moon."

"When is that?"

"Soon, I hope."

Then Kathleen stood in front of me and thanked me for telling her a story and hurried out side and shut the door to her room, not knowing that her own eyes were wet with tears.
