Chapter 16: Shroud

"Henry you want some pasta?" Sam asked him as she looked at the menu.

"Um, no maybe I'd get the crabs. Those nasty little things just make me drool and I love them. A lot."

"What about you Shroud?"

"Um, I'll just get the steak with mash potatoes I'm sure they have well done steaks here right?"

"Of course, we have the best here." He said.

"That’s great, waiter!" Sam yelled.

"Yes madam." the waitress came with a notepad and rushed towards our table.

"Good, um I'd like the pasta with the white sauce." Sam said with her soft toned voice.

"I'll have the special two season crab." Henry followed.

"Um, sir chili sauce or just the ordinary kind of sauce?" the waitress asked.

"Chili sauce would be great." Henry said, speaking like a professional.

"And you madam?" she came looking at me gracefully.

"I'll have the Braised steak with mash potato." I said.

"Oh good, here you go." the waitress said handing a medium sized box towards me.

"What is this?" I asked.

"Oh it's just well, it's a gift from someone." the waitress said.

"From who is the gift and…?" I asked with a serious matter of questions left.  

'Why did he give it?' 'Does he like me?' 'Is he tall or just right?'

"From him madam." the waitress said pointing towards a man in black tuxedo with many women by his side trying to give them their best.

"Oh! I better thank him. What is this by the way?"

"I don’t know madam why don't you open It." the waitress said.

"Right, I think it would be appropriate to see first." I said.

I picked the box up and started toting with it. I opened the ribbon in search for the other. When I had taken the ribbon of I stood up and touched the inner portion then I felt a small bump between it and it was a box inside it a smaller box. I opened it and there was a smaller box within it.

And inside the box there was a beautiful necklace that I couldn't imagine what it was worth for.

"Excuse me." the gentleman came along with his fancy ladies.

"Yes?" I looked towards him and asked.

"Do you like it?" he asked seeming he was drunk from drinking his whisky.

"Yes of course but I cannot accept it at all this must have cost you a fortune." I said.

"Oh no I have lots of them believe me all of these girls around me have that." he said showing an example on the girl with black curly hair revealing her necklace through her see through scarf.

"It would be great but I don't even know you. I can't accept this." I said and returned the necklace he gave directly.

"Well if you don't accept it. I would grow angry and decide not to ever see your face again when you have troubles." he said.

"But I don't have troubles." I said.

"Because I haven't caused them yet.” he said.

"You cause troubles?"

"Yes I do I make your life miserable because your just useless piece of crap down here too us."

"You know what I am?" tears started filling my eyes.

"Whatever you are you are never welcome to my club, hotel, home or anything that is mines."

"I don't seem to mind at all." I told him. “I don’t mind at all.”

"Good then leave at once, now!!!" he yelled.

I stood up and left alone nearing to the exit doors and then turned my head around and looked at the man again.

"You'll regret your decision you know." the man said again.

"No I don't think so, you’re not useless and I'm not useless too. You just think of yourself as useful because you think money buys it all for you." I said leaving the plaza and exited. I hailed a cab and I left going to Marine Hotel and just sail through my dreams for the night.
