Chapter 9: Shroud

I rose up from bed feeling like it was another wonderful day that has risen from the heavens above.

I went up and changed and finally tried the feeling of getting our blonde hairs wet. I grabbed a purple sweatshirt and took a cream jacket and left the hotel.

"Excuse me madam!" the 'concierge' called me as I walked pass her.

"Yes." I faced back and looked at her.

"You have a package madam."

"Oh! Really, do you know who it is from?"

"Um, it’s still the same person who got you this hotel."

"Oh!"

"Yeah he must be your fiancée or something since his been so nice to you and all."

"No. Michael is not my fiancé he is my uncle."

"Oh! I'm sorry madam I didn't know."

"Its okay I don't mind. I'm really not that much of a dating romantic kind of person."

"Oh! Well I guess were alike, same here."

"Oh really?" a blonde haired girl went out of the back and stared at the brunette 'concierge'.

"Oh I'm sorry this is Lizzy she's with me in front management."

"Oh! Hello nice to meet you." I smiled and got the package and kept it to my side.

"Well for real Sharon isn't like that she is totally opposite from you."

"Oh!"

"Yeah believe it or not she had 24 dates in just well a week."

"That must be wonderful as long as you haven't um you know."

"Oh! Um of course not, just you know get to know them and hang with them. Like chilling, relaxing and having fun." Sharon looked at Lizzy and hissed her out of the conversation.

"Oh yeah that would be a great experience. But I'm sorry I have to go. I have to go and meet somebody." I said

"Oh I don't mind please do." she spoke as I walked out of the lobby doors and wave out a taxi bringing me to Serina's school.

After a while, the cabby took two left turns and reached the school in less than five minutes.

"Thanks." I shoved a ten dollar bill to the cabby’s hands and left the cab to drive away from the streets of NYC.

I walked to Millington Bronze of the arts academy. I entered in to find myself searching for Serina to catch up with her and get to learn what I need to learn about Laurie Greens.

"Shroud?" a familiar female voice came out and said my name.

I turned around noticing that it was Serina with her usual cashmere jacket and her formal turtle neck and her scarf around her arms.

"Serina, um, well..."

"Why are you here?" her face was filled with shock.

"Serina well I wanted to know about you know, Laurie Greens."

"Yeah sure, but why?"

"I need it."

"What is it for? Are you with secret service?"

"No. I just needed those things."

"How do you even know my English teacher?"

"I told you my friend told me."

"Pathetic, what are you three, of course I wouldn’t tell you about him, that’s crazy talk, you might send him to jail you evil fool. You’re such a liar!"

"I swear to God, I am not a liar."

"Who told you then?"

"His name is Lucas Matthew Timothy Gardner."

"Where does he live?"

"He's not from here."

"Oh really then are you making this guy up?"

"No! I'm telling you the truth."

"Oh really, I can pretty much dig up all the dirt I can from you, so tell the truth or I’m calling the police."

“I am telling the truth.”

“You swear to God?”

"Yes."

"Well what if I wouldn't believe you."

"Then I would have to tell you something. Something that only you shall know or I will disappear and turn into dust in this world."

"Oh really and how can that be?"

"It can happen to me because I'm a fallen angel."

"Oh really! How am I supposed to believe that? Maybe you might just be a big fat liar."

"That’s what I want to explain to you. I need you to understand something okay."

"Like what liar?"

"I need you to ask me something that you have kept secret from someone. Like anyone."

"Fine, I’ll give you a question then. Where was I first kissed, and by whom?"

"You were kissed in the HOLLYWOOD sign exactly in the letter H spot near the small crack where you carved a small heart having the initials of your name and Christopher's."

"How did you know that?"

"Well, because I used to be your guardian angel."

"Oh really, that’s so cool!"

"Yes and I'm not lying."

"Then why are you looking for Laurie Greens my English teacher?"

"It’s because I would never want to fail Lucas no matter what."

"Who's Lucas?"

"A guy that would be like Christopher for you, a smart, talented and a wonderful person you would like to spend the rest of your life with."

"Really, that’s pretty much a great guy to you."

"A guy who you'd be stupid to leave and a guy who you'd be stupid to forget and never love, because no matter how much you do things to forget him, he will always appear there or into something to show you that he still exists."

"So how do you want to talk with Laurie?"

"I'd like it if we met not by meeting purposely but by coincidence."

"Ms. Burns?" a man with a huge beard appeared at the back of me pointing Serina to her classroom.

"I'm sorry sir."

"Don't let it happen again. Just don't Serina I know you’re a fine student. Who is this?"

"Mr. Laurie this is well this is Shroud."

I turned around and finally saw a man that filled me with happiness since I finally saw how Luke's human looked like for all these years, I've finally seen how much he cared about him.
