Chapter 9

1991

Melanie

Dave started kissing my sweat spot on my neck. I moaned as he kissed me harder. We continued to make out then the phone rang.
"I will be back," I said and went to pick up the phone.
"Hello," I said.
"Hello Melanie Cobain," a deep mans voice said.
"Who is this," i ask a bit scared.
"Chill out it's only Duff," said a voice. Holy shit it's Duff from high school who's now in Guns N Roses.
"How are you," i ask.
"Ok I guess," he said.
"We are going to be on tour with Nirvana in a few weeks and I was wonder if if you were going," he asks.
"Of course I will Duffy Duck," I said. Duffy duck is Duffs nickname like Daffy Duck.
"Ok great. Look I have to go but I will be seeing you soon," he said.
"Ok bye," I said. I was so happy that I would get to see Duff the last time I saw him was. The last time I saw him I was 18 and now I am 23. Duff is 26 now.
"Who was that," Dave asked.
"Just an old friend," I said smiling.

After that phone call Mel got she went straight to bed. I lay awake looking at the roof. Were going on tour with Guns N Roses next week and I can say I am really not thrilled. Kurt doesn't have good history with Axl and Duff and I have gotten into a few fights. I finally fall asleep.  The next few days drag on Mel and i pack for the tour and before we know it it's the morning we leave for our world tour. We go to the airport and wait for the plane. We have to share a plane and bus with Guns N Roses the whole tour. I see from a mile away Guns N Rises walking towards us. Duff starts running up to us which confuses me. Then he hugs Mel!
"Duffy duck," she said and hugged a Duff back.
"You know each other!" I ask.
"Yea we were good friends in high school," Mel said.
"Come on dipshits we don't have all day!"  Axl said. On the plane I sat next to Mel.
"I wanted to ask you...," before I could even ask my question Duff interrupted.
"Hey Mel just wanting to know if you wanna have a drink with me?" He asked.
"Ok sure," she said and they went to have a drink. What if Duff likes her!

Mel

"So I hear you and Dave are going out," Duff asks me.
"We have been going out for nearly 2 years," I said. Duff and I continued to chat for a few hours.

3 weeks later

The tour has been going for just over 3 weeks it's ok i guess. Dave and I have been fighting a lot more lately. I was sitting on the bed still pissed off at Dave from our fight which happened a few minutes ago. I hear a knock in my door.
"Come in," i kind of yell. It's only Duff.
"You ok? I could hear you and Dave fighting, well everyone could" Duff said. I frowned and I could feel tears forming in my eyes.
"Come on lets go out tonight and forget about today," Duff said.
"Ok," I said. I got ready and Duff and I went out. We walked to a local bar and got some drinks. We both got a bit tipsy. When we got home Dave was sitting on the couch.
"Where have you been," he asked in a pissed off tone.
"Out having i good time," i snap.
"I don't know whats gotten into you lately," Dave muted.
"Your just jealous that you didn't have a fun night out and that you spent all your days slaking," I yelled.
"Just shut up and go screw Duff. I know that's what you want," Duff said. I could tell from the expression on Dave's face that we regretted what he said. Went to my room and locked my door and started to cry. In the middle of night I went to go make a hot chocolate. I forgot Dave was sleeping on the couch and I woke him up she I turned the lights on. He sat up but i ignored him. He got up and came into the kitchen.
"Look I wasn't thinking when I said all that stuff. Your the most important thing in my life i love you more then anything. Please give me another chance," Dave begged and he handed me some roses.
"Ok fine i forgive you," I said and hugged Dave. Dave and I went back to our room and lay in bed.
"You know I do love you," Dave said while tracing his finger around my back and softly kissing my neck.
"I love you too," I said and fell asleep in Dave's arms. It's hard to stay mad at Dave.
