May's POV

When we arrive home, I help Tyler to take off his clothes and he falls in bed immediately.
Lucky me, he doesn't seem to remember any word Matty has said to him.

I look on my phone.
A text from Matty...
Hope you're alright love x

I sigh and consider to ignore him, for making clear he has done some shit, but I can't.
I click through my phone to his number.
The moment I want to press the call button, my phone starts ringing. Without checking the ID I pick it up.

" Hi Matty-"
"Excuse me Miss. Am I talking to Miss May Summer?"
"Yes that's me!"
"Miss Summer, it's the Clary Hospital here. I'm Misses Hale. It's about your grandmother Misses Summer. She had an accident and..."
"Oh my god! I will be there in 10 minutes!!", I shout and hang up.
I quickly write a note for Tyler hoping he can read it bc my hand is trembling as fuck.
It feels like I can't breathe when I get in Tyler's car and start driving.
My phone is buzzing again but I don't care because all I can think about is Nanna!! God please no! Don't take my nanna!!

At the hospital I ask exhausted for her and a nurse is taking me with her.
"Room 200", she points and smiles encouraging
The door is opened and a nurse is controlling the vital signs.
She doesn't look satisfied. I rush in the room.
"Is she okay?" My voice is stifled because I can't stop crying.
"Excuse me? Oh are you Miss Summer?"
I nod. The nurse smiles. "I'm Betty. You know your grandmother had a heart attack. She seemed to have problems with her heart the last few months but she has refused to go to a doctor."
I sigh, that's my nanna. She always refuses to go to the doctor.
"Can I-?"
"Of course. Come here."

I get closer to the bed and can finally see my nanna.
It looks like she is sleeping, so familiar but her face is paler and the sound of the machines are making me nervous.
It's my nanna and it's not her.
Suddenly I feel dizzy and I can hear a weird sound like someone is crying very hard. When the nurse is mumbling to me and patting my shoulder, I know what's going on.
It's me. I'm crying my heart out. I'm trembling and the tears are making me nearly blind.
"Dear? Can I call someone for you? You shouldn't be alone now!", Betty asks worried.
Matty! Is what I'm thinking. But "Tyler!" is what I'm speaking out loud.
I take my phone out, unlocked it and Betty calls Tyler while I'm just sitting on a chair, my head on my knees.
"Oh nanna!" Is all I cry out.

Minutes pass or hours I don't know.
Tyler arrives, rushed and still smelling like alcohol.
"May? Is it true? Is your nanna?"
"No she is still alive!", I whisper.
Tyler wraps his arms around me.
And he is just holding me while I can't stop crying.

A doctor is getting closer to us.
"Miss Summer? I'm Doctor Thompson. I'm afraid to tell you that your grandmother...well you should go to her. She is awake now and wants to see you!"
I don't want to be alone with her, so I grab Tyler's hand.
We enter the room again together.
My nanna is looking at us now.
"Hello darling!", she whispers.
I run over to her and hug her tight, too tight obviously because she is pulling me away too soon.
"Nanna how are you? What happened?"
She doesn't answer, she just strikes my hair and smiles.
"You look exactly like your mother May. She would be so proud of you!"
Her breathing is very slow and deep, she looks tired.
"Tyler you took care of her didn't you?"
I turn my head to him. He gets red and just nods.
"Uhm I will let you two talk alone." And he leaves.
I place my eyes back on my nanna, who is watching me too.
"He isn't the right one for you!"
"What??"
"I knew it. From the beginning. I know I liked him very much firstly, but I heard...things."
She takes a deep breath again.
"Nanna please don't talk so much. You need to rest."
"No! I know it's my time to leave...and I want you to be happy! Leave him! Become happy! Find your real love!"
"Nanna please-"
"No! Promise me!!"
"Okay okay promise! But now-"
"I love you May!", she breathes and closes her eyes.
"Nanna?"
She doesn't respond.
"NANNA?!"
the machine next to her bed is making weird noises and suddenly some nurses and doctors are rushing in.
"What has happened?"
"I don't know. She just stopped talking and-"
OMG! IS SHE...?

I scream. A loud desperate painful scream. A nurse grabs me and pulls me out of the room.
"NO!! NANNA! NOOOO!!!"
Suddenly Tyler is next to me.
"May! Calm down please! May! Breathe...calm down..."
But I don't listen. All I do is screaming and crying.
Every colour fades, everything gets blurred and before I pass out I'm screaming silently for the only person I want to be with right now.
"MATTY!"

Finally updated. I'm so sorry it's just I'm busy with work and personal stuff but I have missed writing!!
So I guess there are only four or five chapters left.
I have started a new story already and I hope you will it when I upload the first chapter^^
