▒ Chapter: T W O ▒
With the largest of sunglasses positioned on the bridge of your nose, you marched into a designated area of the mall along with some security guards. You heard the wails of your fans at your appearance, though you were already used to the high level of noise. The chanting of your name cued the usual cheery smile as you raised and waved your hand at them.
Your manager guided you to the table where there were a few permanent markers and a few water bottles. It was going to be a long day, especially since you had to deal with the meet and greet after the signing. It was all promotional work for your upcoming movie, and with more revenue coming in, there was a bigger chance of retiring earlier from this dreaded field. Well, that was what you told yourself.
You were handed a microphone to start off the dreaded signing. Clearing your throat, you began the small speech you had prepared last night, "Good morning, everyone! I'm so thankful you all could be here."
The reaction was ear-piercing as they screamed in happiness. You smiled as you scanned the crowd of fans; some were decked out in clothing with your face on it, others had your name written across their face, and others....you don't even know if that was a mask of your face on their face. It was flattering yet creepy. It didn't deter from the fact that you were grateful for their support.
"Well, let's get this started," you finished the rest of your speech and handed back the microphone to your manager so she could dish out the rules for the event.
One by one, every fan did anything in their power to get whatever they could out of you. Whether it was a strand of your hair or a simple kiss on the cheek (along with your autograph), they asked for it all, and you mostly obliged. You received some amazing drawings from certain fans, and it brought an actual grin to your face.
"Lunch break?" Grey suggested as she neared you.
"Yes, please," you sighed, "are those VIP people here?"
"They just arrived and were wondering if they could have lunch with you."
You eyed your manager, debating whether it was mandatory or optional.
"They're paying extra for your time."
"Cool, what's for lunch?" you chirped as your hesitance lifted.
Grey chuckled as she led you into the private area behind the mall where the event planner's assistants were setting up an area for your lunch gathering. They brought a cooler for drinks and a buffet style lunch where there was an array of luxurious sandwiches, meats, side dishes, and whatever else you could think of. It was unusual for you to have this type of meal though, since you usually were given regular sandwiches from a fast food chain (much to your request).
"What's the special occasion for?"
"The food we ordered!" a pair of voices exclaimed as they entered the private area.
You whipped your head and noticed a few familiar faces, especially the raven haired man from your business class. Gasping, you scrambled away to the bathroom.
Did it look weird that your immediate reaction was to flee? Yes, it was excruciatingly clear how odd you were being.
"[Name], what happened?" Grey questioned as she stood by the door, ".....They're asking for you."
You opened the door and ushered her into the room, locking the door soon after. "The one with the glasses...he's in my classes at school."
A deep frown settled on her lips, "Is he a friend?"
