▒ Chapter: S I X ▒
You should have known.
The man, Kyoya, was part of the Ootori family, so it was obvious that he should have such luxurious living arrangements. Penthouse in one of the most expensive apartment complexes in Massachusetts... you should have expected no less. Why were you thinking of a regular college apartment or dorm room?
"You're right on time," Kyoya greeted you as he opened the front door. It was the usual princely smile, one that made girls swoon if experienced first hand. You, however, kept your guard up with every intention of keeping yourself safe. All that smile did for you was show how truly manipulative this man was.
You would have replied to him, but you became breathless when you gazed around the room. Your eyes zoomed in on the wide panels of windows, all overlooking the city's beautiful landscape. It was a breathtaking view, and you were a bit envious that he had it all to himself. The amount of light that flooded through the windows illuminated the spacious living room, the marble floors reflecting the light to make it appear that much shinier. The furniture was modern, clean with slick lines, though showed promise that it could be comfortable as well. To your left was the kitchen where a personal chef resided and was in the midst of cooking.
Everyone was outside on the petite patio the apartment had to offer. You followed the man outside where his friend group anxiously awaited for your arrival with tea cups and pastries. It was as if it was an everyday occurrence for them to be living in the lap of luxury, enjoying the views and imported food.
"[Name]!" Tamaki called out, waving his arms around frantically. The twins' expressions brightened while the rather small male, Hunny, gasped with excitement. The only ones that kept their composure were Mori and Haruhi. Although she was the only female in the group, she seemed to be one of the only ones that was actually level headed.
"Ah, hello," you smiled softly, setting yourself beside Haruhi. Somehow, you felt her to be one of the only ones you could trust. Even though you knew the twins' mother, she warned you that they were always up to no good and curiosity was their weakness. For some reason, you were a prime candidate for everyone's curiosity, and so you thought it best to keep some distance from them.
"We didn't think you'd come to our lunch!" the twins hummed, amusement sparkling in their orbs.
"But when Kyoya said that he had a plan, everyone knew you were coming." Tamaki added, complimenting the 'oh so' reliable Kyoya Ootori.
You threw the bespectacled man a glance, though you refrained from glaring. No, you couldn't glare, not when so many powerful people could destroy you with just the flick of their hand. How'd you know? Well, you couldn't exactly come into an Ootori apartment without first knowing about every single person. You searched through the internet, and due to your powerful memory (which was mainly used to learn movie scripts or power studying), you learned everything there was to learn about him and all his friends. It might have sounded stalker-ish, but he started it!
"A plan? I hope that didn't include threatening me." It did, and he knew it.
"My, my, threatening a lady such as yourself? No, I just knew your kindness to be an admirable quality. All I had to do was ask," the Ootori male responded innocently.
Your smile grew, the politeness in your tone becoming thicker, "Kindness? I wouldn't call my acceptance kindness, Kyoya.. May I call you that?"
"Here they go again," Haruhi whispered to the blonde man, who seemed amused by your banter with Kyoya.
"Of course, as long as I can call you by your real name as well." The glare on his glasses shined brighter, giving off an air as if he cornered you.
