A Mystery quest !

Doubt over Ben

Ben opens the door to find his lab expert John waiting for him. "So, results mate." Ben ordered. John took some files and said,"I analysed the number you found in Lewis's file. The place is 'Fun cyber cafe.' Someone was calling Lewis from that cyber and was giving him threats of murder. The caller went a week before over there and that's the last time he or she called Lewis. So you should go there and check up yourself. I will tell u it's location." John explained them the route to the location.

Ben said,"Well, thanks for everything mate." John smiled. Liza said,"Now hurry up, let's leave." Ben nodded.

Both the detectives left the office and led their way towards the cyber cafe. After 15-20 minutes both the detectives reached the cyber cafe. It was a big one. Computers with modern technologies and modern softwares. Phones there, were quite expensive to use. Liza and Ben liked that place. "Well, we can come here for fun sake." Liza said with a smile. Ben giggled.

Both the detectives entered. The manager was sitting in a corner doing his work. Liza and Ben went there and showed their identity cards. The manager asked,"How may I help you?" Liza asked,"Lewis Walten. Heard of him?" Manager replied,"Hell yeah, found dead at his own backyard." Liza said,"Yeah, actually we both are investigating his case. We got to know that he was getting some kind of murder threats, and who was giving him this threats was sitting in ur cyber and doing the job."

Manager was shocked. He said,"Uh, that's kinda sad. Well, many people come here everyday to call people. When was ur suspect calling?" Ben said,"He was calling from a long time, but we know that he called last week too. So please show ur entry book. We will have to check it." Manager agreed and showed the detectives the entry book. He opened the previous week's entries. Liza and Ben sat down in a corner and started to have a look in the book. They were searching through each and everyone' name and the number he or she dialed. The one who dialed also had to leave his or her number and signature. So the detectives were searching on those too.

Liza and Ben memorised Lewis's number. So they were checking on that number. After a hard frantic search, they finally did get the number. But to a pleasant surprise, the suspect which called Lewis that day was Ben himself. Yeah! His name was there on the entry book. His number was also there. Ben was taken aback. Liza was stunned. She looked at Ben and said,"I am expecting a answer. Fast!" Ben saw that Liza had doubts over her. He was amazed.

"What the hell are you doing?" Ben asked with frown on his face. Liza said,"Ben your name is written here. It clearly says that you came here at 2:57 pm in the afternoon last week and called Lewis Walten. Ben, here is ur signature. Here is ur number." Liza said pointing at both the things.

"And so. You are believing those stuffs. What, are u insane? Yes you are. I haven't done that entry. Someone entered my name and number." Liza was still looking Ben's face with questions written all over her face. Ben was looking Liza constantly and his frustration intensity was increasing now.

"This is ridiculous. You are really doubting me. The guy who has helped you in so many of your cases. I am hurt." Liza said,"So what, now you want me to ignore this entry of urs. Ok! For a moment I can believe that this entry and ur number is not urs. But what with this signature. It's exactly urs. How can I ignore them, tell me? What would have you done if you were me. Put yourself in my shoes and see."

Ben was shocked. He realized that people change quickly. He was hurt from inside. He said,"Ok I guess I might know what might have happened. The suspect might have made entry with my name and number and also must have copied, my signature. That's the only possible explanation for it." Liza nodded and said,"Yeah you must be right. You have worked with me in so many cases. I trust you."

Ben was happy to hear that. He said looking into Liza's eyes,"Look, I really don't know who did this, but I can assure you that it wasn't me. Someone has definitely learned to write my signature. Why on earth would I call Lewis and give him threats?" Liza said,"Yeah you are absolutely correct. I am mad. Sorry, I had a doubt on you. Well, the suspect is very clever. He or she used you so no one will search about him or her since you would be investigated then. But well, our suspect's plan is failed."

Ben said,"Hey why don't we have a look at the security cameras here and check last week's footage. The truth will come out on its own." Liza agreed to this fascinating idea. Both the detectives went up to the manager to ask him to the show last week's camera footage. But the manager said, "Sorry sir, our cameras stores footage of max to max 5 days, not more than that. So unfortunately you won't get ur footage. Pardon me."

Liza and Ben nodded and got depressed. They had a chance of seeing the suspect, but they missed it. Now they had only one identity about the suspect. The suspect's name is Ben who made entry at 2:57pm with his number and signature on it. Although this identity was not accepted by Liza and Ben. So at the end, Ben and Liza didn't have any identity of the suspect which called Lewis and gave him threats of murder.

Ben and Liza returned to their office. It was evening now. Both discussed the case for a while. "The suspect is the killer indeed. I am sure of that and I must say the killer is not that dumb as I thought him or her. The killer is cunning enough to put the blame of threats on the detective itself. Well, he or she must know that fighting against me could get tough. I will solve this case for sure." Liza said with confidence.

Ben nodded. He said, "Now tommorow we will have a chat with Jones and Jason. I will also ask Steve about his fingerprints on the mug. And this, threat part, we will look into this later on. So that's it for now I guess. Now I will go home and meet tommorow at Lewis's house. Byee and good night. Take care."

Both greeted and hugged each other and went to their respective houses. Both were thinking about the suspect who made entry as Ben. Liza said that she believed Ben, although she had a feeling inside that Ben might be the suspect. She had a little doubt over Ben.
