Ben and Liza headed their way towards Scarlett's room. Liza opened the door. This room was quite hygienic than compared to that of Elisha's room. Liza and Ben entered inside and started to search for some leads.
Liza found a book in Scarlett's drawer. It was titled,'How to escape from a crime?' Liza said,'Man that makes Scarlett even more suspicious. She is reading this book. Seriously? How to escape from a crime. I think, I am gonna talk to her about this in our next meeting." Ben nodded and smiled.
Both continued their investigation. Ben found a piece of paper where it was written,'Tonight at 12.' The date on the paper was intresting. It was the same date on which Lewis died at night. "Boy, I think we need to ask this definitely. 'Tonight at 12'. Around that time only Lewis died. Scarlett has to answer some tough questions."
Liza nodded. Both kept searching for minutes. After failing to get anything more, both decided to go to Steve's room. Liza closed Scarlett's room. Both now headed their way towards Steve's room. Ben opened the door. This room too was clean and far better than that of Elisha.
Liza and Ben started investigating. Ben found one piece of paper again and this time too there was the same thing written. 'Tonight at 12.' Liza said,"There is something that Steve and Liza have hidden with them. Both have a piece of paper where it is written,'Tonight at 12.' There is something that these two had planned that day at 12. The same night when Lewis was killed and at the same time around. We need to talk to those two and don't forget about the fingerprints on the mug. We have to encounter Steve about that too." Ben nodded.
Both searched the room for an hour before they didn't get anything and decided to hit the road. "Well, I am pretty tired. We will search the remaining rooms after a break." Liza said. Ben agreed. Both decided to go their office.
Ben drove Liza to their office. After reaching his room, Ben said,"You have a seat, I will just meet boss and come back." Liza nodded. After Ben went, Liza immediately got a call. She picked up the phone call. It was a man. He said,"You are just so dumb. You think that we are gonna find the murder weapon in the suspects's room. You are probably dumb then. Well, what if I say, that I have the murder weapon, at my home. Shocked right. You should be. Actually, I am busy, going to meet the boss, as I said you right now. Bye and your muscle man is always missing you." The man hung up the phone.
Liza was shocked to the core. "Now, even if I believe that this was not Ben, how did this man on phone come to know that Ben is meeting the boss now. Only Ben and I know this. That means this was Ben." Liza thought. But then she thought about Ben's words the previous day. How Ben assured her that he didn't write the letter.
"There is only one way that I can check who this man was. He said, that the murder weapon is in his house. Well, I will go to Ben's house now and search for the weapon." Liza said. "If I find the weapon in his house, I am gonna have to arrest him. This time, I won't let him escape." Liza said firmly.
And Liza left the office heading up to Ben's house.
After some 20 minutes Liza reached Ben's house. She had the key of Ben's house as the latter had given her the key in case of any emergency.
Liza opened the door. Everything was dark. She turned on the lights and immediately started searching for the murder weapon. She looked through drawers and cupboards, but to no avail. While searching, her mobile phone fell off from her hands. So as she was about to pick up her phone she saw something made up of steel inside Ben's bed. She picked up that shiny steel material and got her shock of the life.
It was a giant sized sharp knife. Liza was shocked to the core. Her eyes couldn't believe it. "No-no this can't be it. I need to send this weapon to the lab to ensure that it is the murder weapon. I just hope that it is not. If it is, I am going to arrest Ben. I know that will be tough, but I have to give justice to Lewis. I have promised him." Liza said to herself.
She immediately locked the main door and went towards the lab which was not that far from her office. After some 15 minutes, Liza reached her lab and immediately gave the sharp knife to her lab assistant John. John said,"Wow, you found the murder weapon, I guess. Where is Ben?" Liza said,"Look first you ensure that it is the murder weapon and don't tell Ben anything about this. He shouldn't know that I have found the weapon."
John raised his one eyebrow up and asked,"May I ask why?" Liza said,"Well, it's shocking but most probably Ben himself is the killer here." John waited for a second and then said,"That's why he was laughing on the first day and telling,'This time the killer will not be caught.' Now I understood." Liza asked,"Yeah, he thought that if he is the detective himself no one will catch him. But this handsome man is unaware of the fact that I am quite a heck of a person. Quite intelligent." John smiled and said,"I will analyse the knife and tell you the results in 3 hrs. So come in 3 hrs." Liza nodded.
She thought of going to the office otherwise Ben would come to the lab searching for her. So she left the lab and hit the road towards her office.
She opened the door of Ben's room. Ben was sitting there. He asked,"Hey where the hell where you?" Liza hesitated to speak but she spoke,"My mother had called, she fell down from the stairs. So I had to go to help her and show her to the doctor." Ben asked,"Well, how is she now?" Liza replied,"She is great now. That's why I am here." Ben smiled.
He asked, "So wanna go to the mansion now?" Liza nodded. Both took their materials and went. Liza had decided mentally that she will investigate till the time the results come.
Before going Liza kept the torned pieces of paper found in Elisha's room, and Scarlett's book found in her room on her table. The papers where it was written,'Tonight at 12' were both with Ben.
Liza was eagerly waiting for the results of the giant sized sharp knife to come. She had a feeling that Ben is the killer and she decided that she ain't gonna leave the man this time.
The results were about to come in 3 hrs. Will it be against Ben? Is Ben really the killer?
