I cleared my throat. Below me was my faithful, sleeping, friends. How peaceful and blissed they al looked. I had waken up early and I thought I should wake them up in a special way. I drew in a big breath before- "WAKE UP!" I shouted as loud as I could. They all shot up instantly and looked around.
"What's wrong!?" Phoenix asked and stood up.
"Nothing. I was just waking you guys up." I smiled.
"You didn't have to yell like a stampede of elephants were coming..." He grumbled and ran his fingers through his hair.
"Sorry." I shrugged and spun around on my heel. No regrets here.
"Your arm feeling any better?" Iridescent asked as she got up.
"Meh. Still numbly painful. If that makes any sense." I say and rearrange the things in my backpack.
"Do you still have the pills?"
"Sadly, no. I lost them during the full moon."
"Aw... Well... We could..."
"You don't have to worry. It doesn't hurt much." I look up at her and say.
"You sure? I could gather some herbs from the forest if you want-"
"I'm fine. Really." I nod. She looks at me for a moment before sighing.
"Alright. If you start hurting more, come to me or Phoenix."
"Got it."
A black feather floated down into my lap. I looked up and Phoenix smiled at me. ""Your feather. I forgot to give it back to you. I found it yesterday."
"Oh, thank you." I say and run my finger down the side of it. I life it up to Phoenix's face and tickle his nose.
"That tickles." He laughed and swatted it away.
"That's the point." I smile.
"Let me try." He reached for the feather but I jerked my hand away.
"How about no?" I teased.
"How about yes?" He said and reached for it again.
"What's the magic word?"
"Please?"
I shook my head no.
"Abra cadabra?"
I shake my head again. "There wasn't one." I say and stuff the feather into my bag.
"What the heck!? You can't do that!"
"But I just did." I smiled.
There's a tap on my shoulder. I turn around and Iridescent is there with sad eyes. "Are you sure you want to go today? I mean, your arm is still... you know." She gestured to it.
"In the state that I'm at, it's take a long time to completely heal. Plus, we have to do this before it's too late."
"You're right. I'm sorry if your dad is already dead."
"He isn't. Omega told me."
"Really? That's great!"
"Yup." I nod. "I wonder what he's doing right now?" I said out loud. "Probably starving in some dark dungeon of sorts.
"Don't think about that. Just think about how happy he'll be when we rescue him and the others! No more being in that dungeon!"
I laughed.
"Look, we don't have to go today. Your dad is a strong man. He could fight off a bear with his bare hands. He has, actually. Jason to be correct." She laughed. "Anyway, you need to rest. Regain your strength. Got it? I'll have Phoenix glued to you if that's what I have to do."
